Conversion rates etc

Could anyone tell me how many from those that find their way to the site you try to promote, will actually join the site? And how about how many of those who find their way to the join form will actually join?

Of course these can vary but maybe there is some kind of statistics how this goes "on avarage".

There is no average statistic for the simple reason that join ratios vary by site, by traffic source, by so many other factors that not one statement about how many join a site will be relevant to you. If you go by the boards - anything form 1:70 to 1:~

Even something as simple as the colors on the pages will affect the join ratio. Words even.

Your promotion should match what visitors end up finding when they land on your site. And you're going to have to spend some time to see which traffic source works and which does not. And which banners, galleries, link placements, text... works best.

Always be testing, as the saying goes.

I have never once in 6 years paid any attention whatsoever to any sites claimed conversion rates. Might as well throw darts! So constantly change up what you are posting see what works for YOU if it doesn't pull it try something else.
