... by DeluxePass! They decided to rename my index pages index-main.html instead of index.html. They are putting age verification scripts on the new index.html pages. The age script page has a pretty brunette lady (fully clothed - thank god) squatting down and next to her is drop down menus for the surfer to plug in day/month/year before they can see my original index page.

BULLSHIT!

I had great SE listings for targeted terms and I was sending a lot of google adwords traffic and a lot of my own traffic from my own sites to these index pages. No I'm totally fucked!

They said I could host my tours on my server instead, to bypass the age script, but that would make all my old links defunct and my SE listing would be GONE!


While I'm here... I need several new domain names and of course all of the good .coms are gone. I'm not concerned with type in traffic but I would like SE friendly domain names. Should I go with 3 or 4 word .com names or 1 or 2 word .net, .biz, .tv, etc domains?

Can you not try throwing in a .htaccess to the root of each site?

It might work, if they are unprofessional enough to change a webmasters site without any prior warning they may have screwed some other stuff up too which you can use to your advantage.

For domain names, what sort of domain are you after?

A couple of good places you can try to find some .coms based on keywords you choose are..

http://www.whois.sc - use the domain explorer tool
http://www.uk2.net - use the brainstorming tool

I use both of those sites every time i want to go domain shopping and i can honestly say even when i have thought all the good names had gone i have found a replacement in no time at all sometimes even found replcements which worked better than the original domains i was searching for :thumbsup:

I'm using DirectNic for my domains and they have a pretty good tool for finding alternative names, but I'm looking for specific keywords and HotDesertKnights has all of the .coms already, . If I go with a 4 word combo .com would I be better off with SE's than a if I went with a 2 word .biz?

For example: if my site title is "Big Uncut Cock Movies" (which it isn't ) Would I be better off with biguncutcockmovies.com or uncutcocks.biz? I would like to avoid hyphens... they look plain old shitty to me.

Just a side note, we use Directnic as a registrar too. But the http://www.uk2.net is SO fucking great.

I use that myself now and then register the domains with Directnic LOL

When you have time and are looking I highly recommend it... and I'm sure you don't have the time now that you need to change shit out.

The fucking nerve of them to make changes to your page without notifying you. That SUX!

I would be happy to help you out by hosting your tour pages if you find some domain names. I can put you on a really good priced plan if you want to keep your members areas on the deluxepass servers, that way your bandwidth will be minimized. Can you upload an .htaccess file on your deluxepass hosting or can you change the index file to a redirect?

I hate to say this, but people, free hosting ALWAYS has issues even if it is a sponsor's bannerless free host. Read this and take it as a lesson!

what do you use them for? surely not hosting? prices there start at £40 for 40 gigs traffic per month (based on prepay for a year dedicated server)...at 1.41USD/£ that turns out to be $US 56/mo for 40G traffic.

Luke we use them for the handy tools they have.. we have never paid money to register any domains or use any of their services other than the Brainstorming too and Bulk Search feature

I host with OXEO 200gigs $100 also with CandidHosting 250gigs $100 (but they have problems with downtime.

I probably get some new IP's... google seems to hate my Oxeo Ip's. What kind of deal can you get me on 50 gigs per month, Chilihost?
