Stop Sign Anti Virus

Just a heads up for folks.

There is an ad running on USA television for Stop Sign Anti Virus. They offer you an online scan to check for trojans and worms, and to be honest, the ad is pretty good actually.

Trouble is that you need to download their engine for the online scan (which is normal for any online scan) but the difference here is that when you do download it, you get hit with a ton of spyware... and it is a bitch to remove too.

Sent my norton off the deep end plus AVG and won't even say what it did to adaware and spybot.

So fair warning to all.

If you do look for or need an online scan I do recommend panda active scan as well as trend micro's housecall.

I also recommend spywareblaster which is preventive as it stops many of the spyware from entering the computer along with its companion program, spyguard. Just like the online scans, they are free.

You know these new virus scanners are now finding my java as a virus. I went to java.sun.com, downloaded the new plug in, and now every scan that runs (nightly) wells me that there is a virus in the java.
