No. ePassporte is neither a credit card nor a checking account, although it has similar functions of both. It is a Visa debit card, a pre-funded account, similar to a pre-paid phone card but with purchasing power.
2. there are no credit cards involved, correct ??
There doesn’t have to be. You may, at your option, load your ePassporte account with a credit card. However, your account may also be loaded by a sponsor program that pays out via ePassporte or by any other ePassporte account holder. There is no load fee associated with this type of load. In other words, the recipient pays nothing to receive money into their account.
You may also load your ePassporte account from a U.S. bank (checking) account. There is a $2 transfer fee for each load from a checking account and no percentage fee.
3. there is a fee for each transaction, correct ??
No. There is no fee to use your account to make a purchase.
However, there is a whopping 25-cent fee to send money to any other ePassporte account holder. (Sorry I couldn't resist) So, for less than the price of a stamp you can send money instantly anywhere in the world. I think that’s a pretty fair price. There are no maintenance fees, no monthly fees, no decline fees (some competitors actually do this) and no other fees at all except to load your account from a bank card or bank account and the 25-cent transfer fee to another ePassporte account holder. (There is an annual renewal fee see question 6)
4. is it a percentage or a flat fee ??
See question 3
5. who pays that - the sender, receiver or both ??
The sender pays all fees associated with transfers.
Anyone receiving money pays nothing to receive it. (That beats the heck out of the competition).
6. are there any fees to maintain the account once it is set up ??
There is an annual fee to maintain your account.
The Virtual account will cost you $5 per year (no fee for the first year).
An Electron card is $35 per year.
7. are there any usage guidelines - such as if no activity on
the account within X amount of days - the account will be closed ??
As long as your account has a balance it is active. It is not dependant upon activity.
8. can you post, or PM me or eMail me a couple sponsors that offer their affiliates ePassport accounts ??
I’m not up to date with this. Probably members of this board can tell you more.
I believe that FlashCash, TopBucks, and Gamma all have programs in place to issue free ePassporte Virtual accounts.
9. and on those accounts provided to the affiliate by a sponsor
A. does only the affilate (example: webmaster) have the access
to take funds OUT of the account ?/
Yes. Only the account holder has access to the funds. It doesn’t matter how you came to have the account. If you get it yourself or someone gives it to you doesn’t make any difference.
B. can those sponsor -to- affiliate provided ePassort accounts
be used for MORE than just transacations between those 2 individuals ??
Absolutely! -- Once you have an account you can use it with as many sponsors as you like. And, you can use it to do Peer-to-Peer (P2P) transactions with any other ePassporte account holder. Further, you can use your Virtual account to shop online or add the ePassporte Visa Electron card and buy your groceries or pull money out of an ATM.
C. does the sponsor that provided the affiliate the account
have access to the FULL RANGE of activity on said account ??
No. They are simply using the account to send money to you. That’s there only involvement.
thanks rand...
