    Bad Customer Service?

when i first started comming to ur web site the thing that attracted me was the amature gallerys... As time went on those gallerys got farther and farther apart, to a point where ur now only posting them once in a while... now i only come back about once a month...u have now turned it into just a movie review site... thats to bad it used to be well rounded site..i am disapointed to see the direction u have gone...

    My Response:
Ya know we have jobs and go to school and this site is something we spend hours and hours and hours on each day and offer it to people for free and dont charge for it at all and there is time and energy and costs involved and really itd take forever to explain why we have to do what we do on the site but really we don't owe you anything. hopefully you'll still find hot stuff to jerk off to on it but if not then that's really too bad because you haven't paid a single cent for any of it.

That really is bad customer service. Why didn't you know that he was there looking for amateur porn? DUH! It used to be well rounded, and then you started adding these new movie review sections! How dare you!

People suck. You'll never make everyone happy.

i think its hilarious that people are so quick to talk shit about freeloaders, then go off & build free sites, galleries, tgps, linksites, etc...

Mind you, this is the same guy who emailed me a few months ago with:

"I'd like to cancel my subscription. Don't bill me anymore."

And I wrote back with "Uh... it's a free site...?"

the business model incorporates turning free porn searchers in to paying customers.

but it doesn't require bend-over-backwards customer service.

there's a fine percentage of people who have no intention to ever pay, never do pay, take what they receive for granted, and continue to make demands despite it.

And they're a different lot that those who are funneled through your free portal in to an area they're then willing to pay from and thus from whom revenue can be generated.

The first lot isn't one that's owed anything.
The second is one worth keeping happy.

I think building free sites offers entitlement to bitch about freeloaders, not obligation to put up with everything they say.
I owe them nothing. They owe me nothing. There's no contract, no exchange, no nothing. The self supposing entitled freeloader deserves to be ridiculed.
If that person meant anything to any of us, we'd never again need a new traffic source. But that free sites are a portal to pay sites and not a standalone operation that's self-supporting means it's not the freeloader to whom anything is owed.

Had he been complaining about colors or something in a more suggestive and constructive criticism fashion, that's one thing. But he opens himself up to ridicule by being a freeloader with a sense of entitlement and holding on to this idea that his opinion matters to me. 8)

And that's not unique to the adult industry.
You don't hand out free food samples and then continue to feed over and over - rushing about gathering condiments and sides - someone who's looking for an entire year's worth of meals at no charge.

You give test drives with the intention to get the person interested enough in the car to buy it. But if they keep comin' back day after day lookin' for free joyrides you quit catering to em.

If I give someone a free trial period on software, I'll take some of what they say in to consideration if they have a helpful word of advice on how to make it better. But if they start demanding things and in the same breath expressing an intention to never pay when the free trial period is up? Then who cares about them.

I try never to send "reactive" letters to anyone. I get lots of unreasonable letters a day, people venting on me etc, but I've found replying with a short courteous reply no matter how hard is the best. Free, pay, whatever, unfortunately the freakin visitor/potential customer always has to be right. There's no winning in arguing with people online, best to just leave it alone.

Yeah I definitely agree that there's no winning in online arguments.
But I'd have to disagree with the visitor/potential customer always being right.

I think with customers as an entity in general and on the whole it's definitely a good idea to treat it as a "customer is always right" environment.
But down to the individual level? Treating every individual customer as if they are always right? It's not necessarily a requirement. And in fact could become harmful to the business on the whole.

I think every business is entitled to have a "We Reserve the Right to Refuse Service to Anyone" sign and enforce it on occasion.
