Lets Hear It For The Quakers!

Portland, Oregon-Quakers (The Society of Friends) are acting on behalf of the same-sex couples that have been married in their meetings. Today, Multnomah Monthly Meeting, a Quaker congregation in Portland, will release position statements from four Quaker Meetings in Oregon opposing marriage discrimination.

In addition, they will report on actions taken at the annual regional gathering of Quakers from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Northern Wyoming. At their meeting this weekend in Missoula, Montana, Friends are considering ways they can activate Quakers throughout the Northwestern states to gain legal recognition of same-sex marriages

Quakers are awesome! The American Friends Service Committee works on a lot of great issues, and I think they have a LGBT campaign going on right now. http://www.afsc.org/
