the friends and relationships that I make in this industry is what keeps me here... without them, I think I would more than likely find employment elsewhere..money is money

I agree. Working on the net is great and I love marketing, but what makes me really tic is networking. Meeting new people, making friends everywhere on the globe, having fun together while making biz (or not) is the best to me.

What makes me tick is revving my engine at intersections to get guys' attention.

but as far as the industry goes, meeting new people, going to new places, doing new things.

Never being Bored. This job is only as fun as you make it, so keeping it fresh and new is what keeps me going.

For me the adult industry repersents an ever-changing market driven where just about anything could in fact turn into the "next big thing"

The adult industry is one of the few "legal" business not effected by a resession people gotta have their porn and they get it. I myself am somewhat of an artist and the work I do in the industry allows me to flex my creative side and produce some great content that alot of people love

The money is also important as well, I'd be lyin if I said otherwise, however at this moment it is not my main driving force, The people I have met in the past few years are great, and some of them are like my extended family.

What makes me tick in this industry?

1. Money. Paying my mortgage is important to me :-) I also like the fact that I can control how much I make. The harder I work the more I make.

2. People. I have met some amazing people through the industry who have become my best friends. Most people I meet and really great, and I love getting together with them at shows.

3. Porn. Yeah, I like porn.

4. Being my own boss. I love not having to report to anyone but myself.

5. No commute. I love the fact I don't have to get up and battle traffic on the way to work. I work from my home, in my pj's ;-)

6. Creativity. I enjoy the marketing aspect and the creation of sites and getting to spend most of my time in Photoshop.

7. Travel. I get to go to Las Vegas, Miami, Phoenix, and other places as business expenses.

8. No politics. You can't get better than not having to deal with office politics.

9. Challenges. Having to stay on top of trends, business practices, marketing techniques, etc, I like the constant changing industry... Keeps things interesting.

10. Excitement. I'm always learning new things, meeting people, going places, it's an exciting life.

I'm sure there are many more. It's a great life!

Okay, define "ticking". Everyone seems to be using the definition of the thing that drives them, the thing they like best, the thing that means the most. From Darren's post, it looks like the thing that ticks you off (ie, people who can't make up their minds). That would be a whole different thread. The cool thing about threads is that sometimes they take a life of their own. I like the fact that everyone had something to say . I meant tick actually either way good , bad.
