    iBill rejected my account!

I have spent more than a month getting ready to launch a website in order for me to sell my art. It can be found here:

    http://www.gaybondageart.com

Today I was finally ready to start testing the actual downloading process. As a preventive measure, I called iBill a few minutes ago to ask them for advice before I started testing. I was then shocked when the customer service representative told me that iBill rejected my acount. He said it glorified violence, and that's what they rejected it. They supposedly sent me an e-mail telling me this, but if they did, it was probably lost with the spam, since I never saw it.

The legal and complaint departments are closed now (it's Sunday), so I won't be able to do anything about that until tomorrow.

Hey, if you go to my website and see my drawings, you will see it's a fantasy! It's not real! I'm not hurting anyone with that!

Anyway, what should I do now? Is there another provider that will process credit cards for me and will allow the content I provide? I went with iBill because I thought it was the best.

If they rejected my account, they better give me my $750 back.

I'm shocked, dissappointed, and pissed. All this time and effort getting my website ready, and it has been for nothing. Any ideas on what to do now, guys?

By the way, don't try to buy anything if you go to my web site. It won't work for obvious reasons.

find out why they rejected your site. hopefully they can give you specifics. ibill is assuredly NOT the best processor in our business. i'd recommend ccbill and epoch, but ibill has been around for quite a while.

i personally find the phrases "Victor Raped" or "If He Moves, He Dies" to be very unlikely to get processing anywhere. they have legal issues to contend with. you MIGHT get "Victor Rape Fantasy" past their legal department but i doubt that the concept of dying or death will win any processors.

btw, why sell merchandise when you could have a paysite? paysites get rebills, and you can still sell merchandise as well...

    good luck!

Personally, I dislike IBill. They may be one of the oldest, but I have seen them mess up to many times on LARGE accounts. If they do that on $30,000 a month accounts, just think what they can do to smaller ones.

I would say, if you can do it get your own merchant accounts and use someone like NetBilling. That is the route we went. No issues, no headaches. The only thing we can't do is use domains with the word boy in them. (We also have to pay that Visa fee.) CCBill is also a very nice option to use. They also come with a built in webmaster program, so you can allow others to promote your sites and make you money that way also.

Basschick also addressed some rather good points to your site and its content. However, I would sell and have a member’s area for my site. (That is just me personally.)

Thanks for your replies. However, I just read ccBills' terms of service, and it does not allow depictions of rape, violence, or mutilation. As mentioned before, one of my drawings already has rape. And my current project has non-consensual violence and mutilation, so I don't think anybody will accept it.

Look, my work is not worse than the work from artists like Etienne, Greasetank, The Hun, or Tagame. One of the "advantages" of making drawings is that you can depict acts you could never do on real life. I would never do any of what I draw about to a real person.

Perhaps you should try that European processor, Verotel. They are the processors for most of that questionable material from Russian and other sites.

Another idea would be to tone down your site at first. Once you get an account, customers, etc... then slowly introduce your "questionable" images.

I would suggest that the site be a paysite. That would open a huge market for you. Selling downloadable images per unit isn't the way to go. I wouldn't pay for them unless they were signed limited edition litographs, pen/ink, etc... That would make them collectable items of art.

$15 for a single .jpg of a drawing?

What do you think the originals would fetch on Ebay?

Changing the name of the drawings is a possibility. However, my drawings are geting more extreme as time goes on. For example, last night I was working on a drawing that shows genital torture. I can name it "Sweet kisses in the park" and it will still be rejected. :-)

Today and yesterday I called iBill, trying to get an answer from them as for why they rejected my account, and all I got was voice mails. I'm getting the feeling this is a trend. Sigh.

You seem to be confusing CBT with rape.

These are two completely seperate things and iBill processes for quite a few sites that have CBT as their theme $0.02

to me, you seem to be missing the fact that extreme bdsm is still concentual. visa isn't going to process for a site - even drawings - that makes it seem the content represents rape and more.

no one says you should name the pics "sweet kisses in the park". in fact, i was really specific - i suggested you try RAPE FANTASY instead of rape. if you equate RAPE FANTASY with sweet kisses in the park, you might have a very different worldview than the rest of us.
