One day a week off the internet...

Has anyone/does anyone do this? Just have a single day a week with the internet cable out the wall so they can do work rather than chat on IMs, go to boards, play smack the penguin, etc.?

I did it the other day and I'm seriously thinking about having a non-net day each week - I got so much done that it was more than an eyeopener. Sure...email might be a problem and what if the server is down for a while...but that wouldn't be too much of a problem for me (with decent host support, of course) but I haven't got a working system where I *have* to be online to answer support questions, etc.

What do ya think?

I think its a good idea but don't know if I could handle the withdrawal symptoms, the nervous twitches, the head banging, the urge to type a message to a bud or to just see who is around... but it is a good idea... now if there is a 12 step support system in place for those who do it and need to deal with withdrawal I'd go for it.. honest.. providing there was online support. <g>

We had builders around a while back putting in a conservatory connected to my office so (rather than having the builders looking at my gay porn over my shoulder) I worked in another room on my laptop with no net connection...in about 3 days I made more freesites/traffic filters/other stuff than I would have done in a week normally.

Of course...me writing messages about not writing messages to save time is taking up my time. Bit stoopid really, aren't I

I actually survived the 4 days without any internet while at the show, but I was so busy during waking hours it wasn't a big "craving". The cut it off for a day though does sound like a great way to be sure you get other life things done, or even spend time working on sites, etc without the online interuptions.
