    8/24/04 2257 deadline - anyone arrested?

So today is the deadline for 2257.

    Has anyone been arrested yet?

Are any of you biting your nails in anticipation of an unwelcome knock at your door?

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

Why would anyone be arrested today?

Its only the deadline for the public comments on the new proposed 2257 requirements.

There is still a minimum of at least 60-90 days before any of these proposed canges will go into effect, if at all.

Dont beleive the keyboard lawyers with all 'the sky is falling' BS.

    Regards,

    Lee

I only posted this as a joke. Last month everyone thought 8/24 was going to be the 9/11 of the porn business.

So in other words, it was the April 1 of the porn business.

we have 30 days after it is decided.

and it's too bad that you aren't taking it more seriously, lavenderlounge. they may not arrest people ON sept 24, but they will be arresting people - it's an election year for conversvatives, remember?

Where did this Sept 24th day come from? Guess someone's bad dream....

My fellow webmasters there is NO DATE. Knowing how the federal government works, you all can sleep tight at night for many more months to come. If the proposed and that is the keyword - proposed - changes to the records keeping requirements of 2257 do become a matter of law, it will be long after the elections, long after the holidays.

not according to lawyers i talked with. they said that if the new regs are not changed at all, the grace period starts at the end of the comment period. this is because these are additions to an existing law, so the time it takes to make a new law doesn't apply.

if you have other information, please give us details. i'm biting my nails down to my wrists here *LOL*

Seek advise from additional counsel. The advice given to you is not the way the system works. My brother-in-law who works for the Department of Justice assures me that what you have been advised is not valid.
