what is your greatest skill in this biz

ok, if you had to choose ONE thing in this business that you are good at, and do it all the time... perfecting your skill... getting better... etc... what would it be?

for me, i think it'd be content. recruiting & shooting comes easy for me, where other things like traffic generation, design, and sales... do not...

so what's yours? put some thought into it. dont just say what it is, say why...

    Marketing

I can pretty much sell anything to anyone whn i put my mind to it LOL

Guess its the Cockney 'Del Boy' in me or its from my wasted years in retail when i left school back in England. Years of training courses about selling stuff to customers, i guess i really did listen in class even though they were boring as hell LOL

    Regards,

    Lee

I'm just getting started in this biz, so I'm trying to figure it out. At this point, it's definitely not programming. Since my background is in business/accounting, I'd have to say, it would be back-end operations (sales reports, business planning, management reports, income maximization, income tax minimization.

Definately designing. I keep learning more and more about the programs I use as well as the various html, dhtml, CSS, java, php languages that add pizazz and control as well as special functionality to a website.

I'm learning everyday about the design tricks that add flair, and how to create clean, optimized components and then putting it all together. I like looking around at what others can achieve and then pushing myself to learn how it was done.

I really enjoy putting colors and textures together and making it all harmonize and flow in a way that also satisfies the marketing demands a site needs ... how certain colors affect the viewer, how to draw the eye to something specific, and so on. Every new project is always a challenge, and that keeps me going.

Designing for the web is something that is always changing and evolving, I'll never know "everything" about it, so there's always something new to look forward to tomorrow.

Aside from selling content I'd have to say my greatest skill in this business is networking. I like talking to people and I like getting people together. Nothing pleases me more than to bring business to someone or to provide someone with a service, even if it's not from me, as long as everyone's satisified, I'm happy

I have excellent customer service skills (patting myself on the back). It comes easy to me, I just treat people the way I want to be treated.

And no, Jasun, that does not mean I tie them up and give them a good flogging. LOL!

I would have to say Sales if I had to narrow it down to 1...However I would follow that up with Marketing & Advertising! To me they are all inter-twined. I try to understand different perspectives, thus enabling me to make better decisions!

    Warm regards,
    -=Chipmunk=-

For me I'd say writing. Its the one thing I know I do well, when I have the time. Writing marketing text is something I love
