Whats your experience promoting Sean Cody?

Anyone have good luck with them?
So far I've had 22 sales and only 2 rebills. Considering this is all exclusive content and the guys are pretty good looking I really thought this would be a bigger hit.
Maybe my traffic sucks, thats why im asking here what your experiences have been promoting that site.

Im not complaining because I think it's a great site, Im just sharing my experience and wondering how others are doing.

I once conducted an informal poll of porn surfers asking them about SeanCody.com and how they became aware of and got their movies from it.

Condensing the poll results, of the 100 or so people that answered, 90 got all their seancody stuff regularly from P2P networks and never joined. 5 had been members at some point in time but weren't active members. 3 were active members. 2 join from time to time to download what they could get and wanted, then cancelled.

When it's so easy for people to get the full length, full quality SeanCody videos from peer2peer networks, the incentive to join is extremely low.

It's unfortunate, especially seeing as their content and guys really are good. But it's tough to sell something everyone's getting for free.

So that might have something to do with your sales #s.

Yeah, they need to take care of that problem. I know more people who get it for free off the internet then actually pay for it!

oh so people join, download everything, and leave?
thats a real shame. I think that is such a good quality site, something I would do myself. it sucks that the rebills so far appear are low on it (for me anyways)

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

After seeing his ad over and over in Cybersocket, I finally check out the site recently. And, I agree it's a great site, layout, guys, etc. I enjoyed reading about the guys. But, I have to say, I wasn't inclined to join.

It is too bad that he isn't managing it better.

I promote Sean Cody and it sells alright for me. It's consistent is what I'd say.

Maybe Sean Cody should contact Titan Media for some advice on handling pirates.

reading this really made me think. i promote sites with 100% NON exclusive content that retain quite well. you can find the content on newsgroups, p2p, and free sites, but the members still stay. what would make sean cody different from those sites? why would it retain that much worse?

how often do they add brand new stuff? if it's brand new, no one will have seen it yet on p2p.

what sets seancody apart from the instances you mentioned, in my opinion, is that there is a culture of seancody piracy.

It's not just that their stuff is available on the p2ps.

It's that people know their stuff is available there. people are dedicated to and make a regular habit of getting stuff off of there. as soon as an update comes out on their website, it's available on the p2ps within literally a matter of hours. it's available en masse within days.

it's not just randomly coming across seancody on the p2ps. It's what could be described as a movement of people actively engaged in an exclusive and particular p2p trade of their content.

What BDBionic has to say is interesting, as I've noticed that you can get almost everything he has on P2P. I would be inclined to think that because Sean Cody has NO ads on his site for other adult webmasters.. and it seems he takes from us without giving back, that maybe there are adult webmasters out there trying to screw him over. I'm thinking worst case scenario here. If I sent all my traffic to Sean Cody, and he never returned the favor.. I'd feel a bit peeved, and probably wouldn't promote him anymore.

Another thing I've noticed with Sean Cody, and Amateur Straight Guys, is that their content is now stagnant. It's not what it used to be, it's all the same. They have the same lighting, same skin tone, and same scenario. Amateurstraightguys has combated this by switching it up a notch, distributing videos, working with webmasters and promoting their sites, but SeanCody hasn't.

The way for us to stay successful is to work together! If we go off on our own and think we'll dominate Gay porn on the web without help from others, we're wrong. Just like Gay sex, it's important to give and receive on the Gay web :-D

I have to disagree with you on the point of AmateurStraightGuys. They are probably one of the only reality sites that is giving you new content 3x a week. When it comes to this I think they kind of set the bar for sites like theirs.

You will also notice they are always coming up with new hot guys they are adding to their exsisting inventory of hotties!

They do a good job of changing the locations and scenery of their shoots as well. I know they just shot some hot footage in a lodge in Northern Arizona.

I do have to agree with you on the point of them working more with the webmasters and promoting their sites, they do a good job in this area. They actually brought me on to help out as well. That's how dedicated they are on keeping their business moving and maintaing relationships etc..

On Sean Cody, it seems like their marketing team is non-exsistent right now. They have Samantha their office manager handling things on the marketing end

Edk, like I said, Amateur Straight Guys has switched it up a notch.

"They actually brought me on to help out as well. That's how dedicated they are on keeping their business moving and maintaing relationships etc.. " That's good to know because I was under the impression they are in way over their heads.

I've been shooting emails back and forth with Vern there about getting my affiliate back up after probilling stopped CC processing. Vern, after not responding for a few weeks would send an email excuse as to why not and that he was right on it... then nothing. Now Vern doesn't respond to my emails at all. I actually asked him if he wanted to do business in my latest email, but no response their either. Maybe you'll be able to get something done?

I remember when I had access to Doug and Jay via email.. that was nice.. you knew the buck stopped with them... but Vern just seems to be dropping the ball.
