Does anyone know how you get gay.com to answer phone calls or e-mail? I've e-mailed them three times and left a recorded phone message once, but they don't seem to reply to queries about advertising.

I'm going to leave it at that before I go off on one of my tirades.

Thanks for the link, I've been there unfortunately, that's where I got their phone numbers from. The ones that I call and no one calls me back.

Oh well, it must be nice to have so much money that you don't need more advertisers.

Ask someone at NakedSword. On another board someone from Gay.com said they work closely with NakedSword and are always in touch with them. So maybe Holly or Reena could get you in touch with someone.

And xstra8guy, yes, they do adult, I've seen ChiChi's text ads all over the place.

Nice way to run you freakin' business. Oh well, I guess when you own a domain like gay.com you can deal with the world any way you please. Nice.

hehe anyone remember when gay.com was supposed to go public? they were all talking about their IPO and stuff and then yanked that whole idea. makes ya wonder

oh yeah I've also seen PrideBucks.com and RandyBlue.com advertising on there.

So maybe Rainey or Harlan or Randy @ BlueLoot would know who to grab?

Yeah, must be nice to have so much business you can ignore all the potentials. I have tried to contact them and get nothing in response as well.

I remember all the IPO hype and then it just faded away. Funny thing is they finally showed a small profit at one point. Guess they couldnt get their value up...... Their employees need "Customer Service Viagra"

I think I have their contact info arround here somewhere. I'll see if I can find it. They where really nice once you get in with them. Getting there was what took a while. It was worth it though, good folks.

I take from your post here that you have contacted them numerous times so that you can pay them money to advertise. You say here that you have not heard from any humans at the company. You obviously find the situation exasperating.

As to the question of whether you should persist, and would it be worth your while?

This is a little off topic, but I used to chat on gay.c*m once in a while and the chatrooms are full of adbots pushing crappy sites. Does anyone know if the bots are gay.c*m sponsored? How do they do it? There are so many of them it makes casual chat almost impossible, it must be working for someone.

I can't say for sure, but I would guess that the bots aren't gay.c*m sponsored. At one point they spent a ton of money to redesign their interface and system to stop the bots from coming in. It worked for a while, but as with porn, eventually our biz finds a way.
