AEBN's Slap in the face to Adult Webmasters?

After todays AEBN press release I rushed to their galleries to see what I could promote for them. I have AEBN on my pay sites as filler content.

I was shocked to see the following " Promo " text on the hosted galleries:

WTF is this? I pay AEBN every month for paysite feeds. I send them customers and this is what they have to say about my business?

How do you guys feel about this?

Its marketing, plain and simple and its no different to the type of text i use when promoting our own paysites on Stud Money or any other affiliate program...

The service AEBN provides is different then that of your average paysite of course and it's not like AEBN is going to put us out of business.

I think it's a tacky way for them to promote their product to my paysite customers. If I choose to promote them I'll redo the galleries.

Ok maybe I'm missing something... but why would you use a free hosted gallery to promote to an existing pay site member?

I looked at the galleries and don't think there is anything wrong with them since I'll be using them on free sites, link lists and fake tgp pages. In using them that way, that's just marketing text.

I would never use those galleries inside my paysite, personally.

Am I missing something?

What you're missing is the fact that instead of taking the high road and promoting all the good thing about their product in their promos.. they are putting down the industry that helped create them... the adult paysites.

I don't promote their free stuff in my paysites.. but that is a good idea.

I think it's very feasable to think AEBN might have used adult webmasters and their sites to get to where they are today.. and very possibly are out to take a large share of our market.

I would like to hear what AEBN feels their relationship with adult webmasters is. Is it to take our traffic, then subscribers, then put us out of business? From this marketing text.. it sure seems so.

A webmaster works hard, puts out a lot of money and effort to promote their sites... trusts that AEBN is charging them accodingly for feeds etc., then sees this kind of marketing. If AEBN thinks so lowly of adult websites.. what's to make them not overcharge us on feeds etc.? ( I'm thinking worse case scenario here )

I think what most people would get out of their advertising is "Why pay a $30 membership when you can watch a full length pay per view video" There is absolutely nothing stopping AEBN from changing their business plan to include a monthly membership fee for "all you can watch" video. I'm sure the rebills would be more then enough to offset the bandwidth and fees they pay content producers. OH WAIT A SECOND .. that's right... the Adult Paysite webmasters off that service for AEBN and eat all those costs for them... silly me!!! And this is the kind of thanks we get from AEBN? Advertising knocking adult paysites?

I think it's silly being a company in their position, dealing with adult content paysites, to resort to this kind of advertising when they have so many other marketing angles they could go for. I think it's a possible sign of market positioning on their part that isn't favorable to the adult paysite webmasters out there.

I don't know what to say to you Squirt... its a sales pitch. Your paysite members should never see one of those galleries. They should never be in a position to consider any other product after they become a member of your site.

So it's ok to go through the back door using the thousands of TGP, and other sites out there peddling the AEBN content?

Is there no other selling points AEBN can make in it's advertising campains other then those negating the value of adult paysites?

An antagonistic sales campaign against adult pay sites doesn't benefit the adult pay site industry at all, but of course, it will help AEBN make money I'm sure.

I think I'm going to start a new sales campaign against PPV sites. Maybe something like.. "Why pay for AEBN when you can get it on my free site?" Spam the search engines for FREE AEBN.

You see.. I think that AEBN makes most of it's money from Adult Pay sites who have paying customers that upsell to AEBN PPV.. not the free sites out there. Adult Pay Sites give qualified customers to AEBN without sucking up their free content bandwidth.

The only reason I could possibly see AEBN saying negative things about Adult Pay Sites would be the fact that they see us as competition.

Sounds like the complacant attitude of Microsoft or a utility company.
