You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

Have Gay Marketers / Webmasters Become An Industry Commodity?

Just curious as to what you folks thought about this question.

In the past couple of months ive been looking at how many of the predominantly straight operated companies have started to embraced the gay market and in particular, those webmasters who promote products to gay surfers.

Have we become a commodity in the adult industry to the point where everyone is scrambling to get their share of the gay marketplace and, in order to get their share, they have realized that they need US?

    Regards,

    Lee

I think they embraced us a long time ago when they started adding gay sites to the arsenal of straight sites. But I think they saw us as a niche.

I think what's starting to happen now is that they're realizing that they can't just put up the same tours change all the tits to pecs and all the cunts to cocks and they're making money. I think much of the industry is figuring out in a big way that the gay market is a market, not a niche; it needs to be marketed to differently; and they probably need some gay people involved in the running of those sites and programs.

I still don't think the big programs are getting it right. The tours I've seen have no soul. And when are they going to do sites that feature something other than twinks?

I agree, xstr8guy, maybe you and I should run a seminar at Internext: "What is a Bear? What is a Twink?"

I totally agree. I've rarely seen a good bear site done by a straight company.
And I've seen straight designers do "gay" tgp sites and theyre pink with rainbows on them, like Raindow Brite designed it. They're ridiculous.

    most *definately*

Its the same reason many tv shows have a 'token fag'!!!!
Reality shows are the funniest, its like they pick people who represent cliche's the best ... ie, 1 black person, 1 gay person, 1 feminist, 1 football meathead, 1 blonde bimbo etc

The first example I remember of what you are saying Lee was when Cybererotica brought in Lee Noga to run their *male* gay sites .....

    I still don't get it

If this were a sitcom what would that make me?

The straight, obnoxious, pig-headed, non-racist, non-sexist, non-phobic, houseproud, great dad, nice-guy, bullshit-hating, low tolerance to idiots meathead pornographer who can cook ?

No wonder Big Brother or Survivor never replies to my applications.
