Do You Think Newbies Tell Others 'To Much Info' To Impress?

Just wondered what you all thought about this?

Ive seen a lot of newbie posts on other boards recently telling other webmasters that they are already earning $500-1000 after their first week in the industry.

Then they proceed to tell everyone about all the flashy cars they drive, clothes they buy and places they eat or drink at.

I realize that for the most part most of what they say is pure bullshit but for the other 5% at most that isnt pure BS do you think anyone really wants to know?

How do you feel about people who constantly post how much they are making etc on message boards?

    Regards,

    Lee

In the context you have stated I think it is simply an effort to try and make themselves appear successful, to build their own ego and is just out and out nonsense. I think it also shows deep insecurity that most likely will lead them to either become the type of webmaster that scams others or they'll leave the business claiming they were robbed.

I don't see those one's lasting long but I do see them fostering the misconception of what the adult industry really is.

    just my opinion though.

I do think there is still some easy money to be made in this business and I imagine some of the loud-mouths over at GFY are making some 'bank'. But where do they find the time to actually do any work when they are posting all of the time.

I bet the ratio is 10:1, 10 loud-mouths to every 1 person making money.

I'm an action man.. don't say it.. do it. If they're all talk about what they make, what they can do, etc. that's irritating.

What is too much info? I posted pics of my kid and pets on here.. hell I posted a pic of my cock on here... is that too much? Some would think so. :high:

Any business you're in will have people full of shit. Locker room talk is just a part of life.

    LOL...that's what I was thinking!

I figure most of it's bullshit.

I also figure maybe some of em are actually driving nice cars and have plenty of bling....why, cause some probably still live at home sucking off of the parents, don't have any bills, etc...

I have a friend who's 22 year old son is still living with her...she and her husband bought him a better car than what I drive....and he does webmaster stuff.

So, to me the factor would be what you have for bills, where you live.

If you have a mortgage, kids, huge bills, driving a frumpy car etc....
It gives the "appearance" that you're not making much money.

This compared to someone who lives in an apt, or at home and has no bills....So, they can afford a flashy car because of this.

As for me...probably the only one who isn't making shit in the adult industry...

Yeah, right, after their first week? Sounds like a whopper of a tale to entice newbies to sign up with their webmaster affiliate code.

Oh i agree Dean.. used to be that wouldnt have sounded like a big ol' lie even 3 or 4 years ago but nowadays i would hazard a guess and say the majority of webmasters that joined the industry certainly within the last 12-18 months wont have made that much on a weekly basis for a MINIMUM of 3-6 months.

    Lee

I know this is your passive way of trying to get people to say it's true for them isn't it? :high:

Lee, you could always just avoid those boards

Well all the other camops keep telling me something like "I don't even make enough to live on and barely enough to keep the site open...but i'm doing really really well and don't need any advice or comments from you, I do things my way and if you have any suggestions keep them to yourself!"

    whatever that means...

I think that 90% of it is BULLSHIT. Althought some programs do convert well and if you like the niche your working in you will do well with it. I love some latino men. LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM, and I've been doing this shit for 4 years. Never once has one program alone made me enough money to live on, from the affilate stand point. (however, this month my rebills are quite nice.)

I work hands on with quite a few of the WM's that promote us, and none of them make money like that.

There are only a few that actually do reach more then $30-$300 per month. Even 6 months to 2 years down the road. (Based off the stats from the 3 diffrent programs, that I worked as admin for.) I honestly wouldn't put it past those new guys claiming to make that so new in the game to actually be a rep for the company doing nothing more then making a fake account on chat boards to drum up new affialtes for themself...
You'll get more with a kind word and a 2 by 4 then you'll get with just a kind word.

We all work very hard and now how much blood & sweat goes into each and every dollar and well as the reality of going from a first free site with free content on a free host to 4 figures in a week.

Just like in life, anyone who brags too much is really trying to convince themselves.
