The most successful marketing technique (no popups)

Before the recent MS update my exit page was my best marketing technique, aside from weekly customer emails. Now I use a rotating banner for my affiliates that’s on every page of my site, including the member’s area. Real good affiliates promoting your site doesn't hurt either.

What is your most successful marketing technique, aside from popups, and why?

I guess it depends on the type of site ultimately however, when marketing adult sites i find the best method is to be honest, tell the surfers what your sponsors actually have and, if possible, make what you tell the surfer, match what the sites tour has on it as much as possible
