    It's like riding...

...a bike. It's been a while since I was with a content production company, but it's a bit like riding a bike. You can go for years without doing it but once you hop back on you're just a riding fool!

Once again I am, porny. Working with 123bill at least gave me a bit of illusion that I was somehow further removed from the flesh...but I'm into my 2nd week here at ChiChiClicks and I must say...it's nice to be home again

Odd thing to say at a new job and 2500 miles from home eh? Although, this is my new home now and I feel very at-ease already. This brings me to my question. Till now, I've always been what I called "The Token Fag." If you don't know what that means, you're probably either straight or not working in the industry. Every big straight company has one. I defined the role for Pornication when I was with them. Don't get me wrong, that role certainly has it's place. It was nice to know that I had some experience they were willing to utilize and pay for. However, I'm loving the fact that I finally work for a gay company that produces QUALITY gay content.

There's so much that's simply understood here. I don't have to waste time explaining family terms to my co-workers (in fact, these LA boys are giving ME and education).

So here's my question: Given that EVERY situation has it's own set of pluses and minuses, what do you think are the good and bad points about working for a gay company vs. working for a straight company in the gay market?

Please email, icq or call me any time and please check my post in the announcements forum for more details about what OTHER new and exciting things are joining ChiChiClicks besides me

Growing up in Detroit will ensure weekly trips to Windsor for 2 years. Detroit kids between 19-21 spend almost every weekend in Windsor because we can drink there. Of course, that was some time ago (eek)! All you have to do is cross a river...and back then customs was a breeze...not sure what it's like today though.

Was great seeing you too Chris. Glad to hear your family is well and see that you're looking sexy as ever

Hope to see you again soon. Be sure to watch AlyTV this week for my full appearance!

Let me know if there's anything I can do for you.

    Damnit Don! I TOLD Jim:

"I'm really going to have to watch out when I introduce you to Don."

LOL....j/k...I appreciate the compliment and I know that I'm the love of his life....and naturally everyone is going to be jealous of us as it should be! That's one of the great parts about being in love...feeling like the rest of the world is totally, justifiably envious.

Hope to see you again soon.

Responding to your original post's question:

I run Black Hotboy at http://blackhotboy.com . We do gay black/interracial, produce our own pics and videos and live webcam, too. I think straight companies don't communicate well to gay surfers, I have seen shockingly insulting "ads" from straight companies, like, "White queer sucks Jap fag's dick." That, obviously is a turn-off to a gay surfer. It's just like black people, they may call each other, "My nigga", but it's not appropriate for a white person to use the ni word. And I know, my boyfriend is black.

Since you are with a content company, perhaps you can recommend/advise me how I can start selling our own videos and pics to content providers. We do have all 2257 documentation on file for all models, of course.

This board is a great place to start. Do some research. Get to know the people here, the vast majority are more than willing to help. Find out who does what.

Utilize the content and announcement forums. Post announcements letting people know what you have going on and what new products you release (plug my own 'new product' announcement here).

Become involved in as much as possible and make sure people know who you are, what you do, why you do it and what you want to do next. There are a lot of great connections to be made on this board...you're off to a great start.

When people are interested, give them accurate samples of your content. Be up-front and honest. One of my industry mentors says, "It's better to under-sell and over-deliver than the other way around."

Don't be shy, put yourself out there, stand behind your product, really listen to what people want and above all, be honest and true to yourself. I know those are rather general comments, but hopefully there's some words of wisdom in there somewhere that you might find useful.

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

Heh heh, well don't worry too much. While he's a total hottie, he's not my type. I'm on the hunt for someone who's a little more, how should I say... experienced. :5ymca:

and by "experienced" he means "Owns his own sound-proofed dungeon with air conditioning and a selection of ball-gags."

It was good talking to you the other day, Jason. Get your halloween costume ready... the biggest event in West Hollywood is only 4 days away! Hopefully it won't be raining like it was last year.
