Weekly Reader Student Poll "Elects" Bush

The students who read Weekly Reader's magazines have made their preference for president known: they want to send President Bush back to the White House.

The results of this year's Weekly Reader poll have just been announced, and the winner is President Bush. Hundreds of thousands of students participated, giving the Republican president more than 60% of the votes cast and making him a decisive choice over Democratic Senator John Kerry.

Since 1956, Weekly Reader students in grades 1-12 have correctly picked the president, making the Weekly Reader poll one of the most accurate predictors of presidential outcomes in history.

don't believe that one for a second...

the reason for that is because kid's will just parrot what theire parents say.

And this year, the voter turn-out of the childless 18-30 crowd is going to be phenominal.

Just make sure you get your younger friends out that day.. do whatever you have to do.

I've managed to get at least 50 American citizens who live in Canada who didn't even know they COULD vote to register. and vote.

I printed out the website where you could register on a bunch of business cards, and carried them around with me. I go out ot a lot of bars and clubs with lots of college students, and whenever I'd meet someone from the US, I'd hand it over, and give them my email if they needed any help/// I heard from lots of them telling me that they had sent their ballots away.

Oh, and if the person i was talking to was a Bush supporter, I'd tell them that it's REALLY hard to vote, and expensive and a total pain in the butt.

I mean, really... you expect me to help out someone like THAT?

Agreed, this election is not even going to be close. Most polls only target 'likely voters', which means people that have voted in past presidential elections. And the polls only call home phones, not cell phones. Both of these practices leave out all young voters.

And not to mention... Gallup, the largest, polls a larger percentage of registered Republicans because, tradionally, more Republicans vote in elections.

In my personal life (and remember I live in Texas) I know many people that voted for Bush in the last election and now they want him GONE!

Kerry is going to win by a landslide! Now imagine if we had a canidate that we actually liked.

You know, it's funny.. in the last canadian eleciton a few months back, the polls were saying that it was going to be a photo finish between the Liberals and the conservatives.

But that just didn't happen. Lieral support surged, and conservative support evaporated. But a closer look actaully showed that young voters, who voted overwhelmingly for either the Liberal or New democratic Party (to the left of the left), didn't get polled but showed up in much higher numbers than they ever had before, and a good deal of that was because of the Conservative leader cozying up to Dubya.

Funny, how hated of that moron actually effected the Canadian election, and will most likely efffecct the British Election.

true and let us hope it will change the alberta government too... gotta get rid of that Klein..

but I think too a lot of the changes were from the gay community as well and those non gays who didn't appreciate harper wanting to use the 'not withstanding' clause of the consititution to over ride the court decisions...

just my west coast view though

I'm too young, darling. Apparently we require our leaders to become as old, demented and fuzzy-around-the-edges as possible before they take over the world! LOL!
