OK... I'm a big Washington Redskins fan. But this week I found myself in the odd position of hoping to goodness they'd lose their game today. And they did! Why does this matter?
Because since the early 1930's how the Redskins did in their last home game before the presidential election correlated with how the election turned out.
If the Redskins won their last home game before the election, the incumbent candidate won the presidential election.
If the Redskins lost their last home game, the incumbent lost.
This correlation hasn't failed since 1933.
Today, the Green Bay Packers beat the Washington Redskins 28-14 at Redskins Stadium/Fedex Field in Landover, MD.
Let's hope the trend sticks!
Sorry Joe Gibbs and the 'Skins... I had to root against ya this weekend. Please forgive me! But it's for the best!
