the word 'Gay' used as a noun...
Is it just me, or is the word 'Gay' not supposed to be used as a noun? It seems derogatory to me when I read/hear 'Gays'. What are your thoughts on this? Is it something, that if you are gay, it's ok to use/say?

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?
I gotta agree with you on the noun thing. 'Gays' just doesnt 'sound' right

i've never liked 'gays' because it sounds derrogatory.
however, grammatically i think its correct. we have blacks, whites, jews, catholics, americans, russians, etc...
gays, straights, lesbians.... out of all of them, the only one that sounds ok is lesbians, and i dunno, maybe lesbian women dont like that either
isnt our language weird?

i just HATE the word gay being used as a noun. notice how generally only straight people use it that way, and often rudely. i've always despised terms like blacks and gays. it's a great way to pigeonhole us away from being people, and group us by one thing.
lesbian was used as a noun when i was a kid, not lesbian women. when i was a teenager, gay was an adjective that described men OR women.

well, there definitely seems to be a consensus here on this topic.
