Porn slip-up embarrasses Idol winner

Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan has had her first taste of controversy with the news that a mistake in an advert giving her website address actually leads to a gay porn site.

An advertisement by Telstra for the download of the 16-year-old winner’s debut single in today’s Herald Sun gives a link - www.caseydonovan.com.

And although BigPond may have scored a touchdown in making Casey’s debut single available for download on its BigPond Music service, the service provider has made an equally large touch not with a massive blooper.

The half-page ad, which appeared in both the News Ltd papers in Sydney and Melbourne today, mentions the site www.caseydonovan.com right at the top, under the mistaken assumption that it is the official site for the song.

Instead, the site caters to those looking for gay porn and is not exactly the kind of website which parents would recommend to teenagers - the main audience of the Idol show.

BIG news here in Australia. When you goto the site it has frontal nudity on the FRONT PAGE. The demographic for the Idol show is 13-16 year olds.

although I didn't know that silly American Idol drama was still going on. didn't they stop doing that shit since none of the "Idol" people have actually sold any records to speak of?

I wonder how many Casey Donovan porn tapes are gonna get sold off that site now.

I was kinda thinking of buying "Boys in the Sand" on DVD anywy...

Here in Australia it's a very big thing. The biggest show of the season and the top 5 idols last year all had top ten hits on the top two had the biggest selling CD's in Oz.

We had a Canadian Idol.

the first winner was the nerdiest dork on the planet.. ugly... boring... he wore Nana Mouskouri glasses for crying out loud.

He sang... I don't know... boring shlock. His video was him signing autographs in a parking lot.

Last time I saw him was about a month ago, in the storage facility that we use here at the office. He was there stock piling his posters and T-shirts.

We've also had two Pop stars bands. One was called "Sugar Jones" as in "Craving Syrup". They wre 5 hideously ugly girls, 4 of whom coulnd't sing. the songs were pedestrian... the production shoddy.

They got dropped.

the second was called "Velvet Empire". They were 5 ugly kids. The video looked like those "Make Your Own Video" shoots you can do at amusement parks.

Embarrasing.

Even in America, there's been three Seasons, but the only actaul star that's come out of that show is the guy who came in second on the second series.

The guy who won was fat and ugly and boring. A novelty at best. The girl who won the first keeps hanging on and trying to get a hit.. no luck yet.. and the chick that won the third... I don't thin I've heard anything from her since she won.

Oh well.

Shows like that have proven that the world is coming to an end and we deserve it.
