    Falcon BuckBuddies Ennui

I know that several individuals here are in Falcon BuckBuddies, so I thought I would pass this on:

Those of you who have wondered why signups have dropped since they switched processors, here is why: They have stopped paying on trial signups.

They did pay for trials under the iBill regime. They are not under the new order.
Apart from the fact that this was not communicated, it has for me been very confusing. If you are in BuckBuddies, you might want to email them ask ask them to clarify this change.

Hey I'm curious if this is still the case? Any update on the situation, Steve?

I've been taking peeks at their program here and there but have always stayed away from it because of the 30% deal. I mean... sure they're a huge studio and what not but I can make more sending traffic to an infinite supply of 50% and up sponsors or $30 and up PPS sponsors. Know what I mean? I can make a 50% sponsor the biggest name and studio in gay porn as far as my surfers are concerned if I market and present that sponsor right.

I was contemplating promoting Falcon, however, only because they do have some brand recognition. And so figure someone who might already be interested in or wanna join or already like Falcon could perhaps come across one of my banners first, click thru and join with moderate effort on my part. Make a sale with little selling involved.

Also... they have the twenty some odd sales referred before you go from 30% to 40% and however many more before you go from 40 to 50%... if they're not paying on trials, do those trials also not count towards your tier bump?

Would anyone have any info on this or happen to know?

I would adopt a "wait and see" attitude regarding Falcon BuckBuddies. In fact DHD Media sent an email today promising that a new and improved BuckBuddies program is imminent. Maybe someone from Falcon or DHD will be in Vegas......

For now, I've still yet to receive a credit for a trial subscription, which both parties say should be appearing properly by now.

Besides all that, I would think hard about if you really want to offer the Falcon product. They are a classic case of a movie studio that makes it really difficult for us to market. When you send them a prospect, they will be urged to watch movies PPV or purchase Exclusive Director's Cuts mail order, none of which you get credit for. Compare that to a plucky upstart studio like Cobra, where we can talk about their most recent movie, and immediately point an inspired customer to buy it, ship it anywhere US or non US, or get them to watch it PPV. All bases nicely covered.

A lot of people think that Falcon's movies lately are flat and uninspired. However, they have such a huge library of movies, which people still love to watch - things like Flashpoint or Absolute or Plunge... which are *definitely* inspired.

I have lots of the Falcon movies reviewed, so in my case I happen to get all these readers interested in their films, so it is worth it for me to promote, despite the troubles. Let's hope 2005 brings some better fortune on this front.

Sounds like Falcon is a program to stay away from. Too many problems, too much shaving, and taking your traffic and benefiting from it without paying the webmaster is shaving. Period.

Oh well, just goes to show you that because you're the oldest and the "best" doesn't mean you've got a clue how you got there.

    Hi Guys -

Thanks for the feedback on Falcon Studios. Yes, Falcon Studios did realize that things were not running up to their standards so that's why they have done the following:

    1. They brought on a new team to handle their affiliate program. We (reAxsis Media) came on board to manage this whole process. So feel free to email us with any questions and we will get them handled asap!

    eddieK@falconstudios.com
    drewg@falconstudios.com

    2. We we will be launching an improved affiliate program called FalconBucks January 2005. For more information you can go to the Announcement section of GWW to read more about this.

I am sure everyone will be pleased with FalconBucks. We will be posting more information on the roll-out of the program next week.

    Happy Holidays All ! :elf:

30% is definitely too low. But, as you say, there's alot of brand recognition, so presumambly an affiliate could get more mileage (and $) out of less promotion.

So what base revshare % would you like to see BDB? would you prefer a PPS to rebill-inclusive one?
