    Okay serious question Ian..

Is there any difference betwen Hanukkah and Chanukah or is it just a different spelling variation? Thats always puzzled me.

    Regards,

    Lee

Well I've always had it spelled with the 'ch' as it is closer in sounding to the actual word.. there is harder sound to it than with just an 'h' but either works. I'd say the 'h' is the easy way, the 'ch' is the phonetic version.

There are several variations on the spelling -- most Hebrew words have the "ch" (pronounced in a way you can't imagine!) but they Americanized it years ago to Hanukkah.
