    securing content

we sell our video feeds to other websites and have a constant battle and balancing act between making the site secure and not locking out the differnt browser types and computers,

we obviousl;y cant just put everything in a password protected members area.

so how do you guys do it? what have you found works best?

right now i have my own system which is a combination of reffering url's and cookies.

    any input?

In the past I just used htaccess and php scripts to handle it. Simple, easy to set up and works well. The only trouble that came from it was for sites that have members area's that are created by a program, and not a static page. It caused issues sometimes. (Nothing major, I just had to add them in the databases in a diffrent way.)
You'll get more with a kind word and a 2 by 4 then you'll get with just a kind word.

Stunner Media Presents 8 great programs:
    IndieBucks | StandAhead | BoyCrushCash | Phoenixxx | <a href="http://hunkmoney.com/">Hunk Money</a> | <a href="http://nats.britishbucks.com/">British Bucks</a> | <a href="http://nats4.emoprofits.com/">Emo Profits</a> | <a href="http://latinobucks.com/">Latino Bucks</a>

    Greetings:

Htaccess isn't a solution for video most of the time, as referral isn't passed along.

The best way to handle this is with cookies and php session data. That way, you can be SURE you're securing your content, and making your site work fine for everyone (even if the user has cookies turned off, the php session data takes over).

Not sure if there are any commercial products out there that will handle that for you or not. But any geek that's worth his weight in salt could design a system for ya.

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

Custom solution would be the way to go in this instance.

I know woj@wojfun.com has a movie plugin type feed script that is low cost which quite a few paysites are using right now, you might want to shoot him an email

    Regards,

You could use Strongbox with the handoff
variation designed for just that very
    scenario.
