Is It Illegal To Shoot Porn In The Vegas Strip Hotels?

There was a thread where this was mentioned on GFY and some of the more reputable content providers all agree that it is illegal to shoot porn in hotels on The Strip but im unable to find any links relating to these specific statutes.

Does anyone happen to know where to find a link to read up on this?

I looking at the Nevada state legislature at the moment but all i can find references to in it are case involving child porn.

    Regards,

    Lee

last i heard, it was illegal to shoot gay or lesbian porn there. years ago, nina hartley did a girl-girl shoot, and they not only threw her in jail - they wouldn't let her out for a week!

Well at the Venetian a couple of years ago they were shooting a pron in the hospitality suite. It was supposed to be on the internet. I know they don't allow cameras on the casino floor though.

The link didn't refer to any LAWS against shooting porn, it sounded more like the hotels didn't like that kind of behaviour so it was like doing it in mom & dad's house when they were gone for the night..

I haven't had time to look up the laws in Nevada tonight, but I would bet my corner office that any law criminalizing gay/lesbian porn but not straight porn is unenforceable after the Lawrence V. Texas US Supreme Court decision of June 2003. So, no law can be enforced against gay porn only.

As far as outlawing the shooting of porn, I'll do some more research but my gut tells me there is no law against filming adults in consensual sexual activity in Nevada or Clark County or the City of Las Vegas.

More likely the hotels do not want porn shot in their establishments--and they can kick anyone off their property that they choose. Thus, shooting porn at the MGM is not illegal, it would just be against company policy. Jail is not a worry, but losing a high priced room reservation could be.

You know when Americas Sweethearts was finished filming a friend of mine booked me for a hotel in Vegas he worked at called The Lake Las Vegas Resort.

We walked through the lobby with 3 hookers 5 hot guys, our lighting and equipment. The staff saw this and promply asked us if we needed a hand.

The first 2 years of my site I filmed in Vegas hotels. As long as you're respectful, quiet and clean, hotel management just doesn't care.

As far as formal legalities nowdays I know you minimally are required to have the following:

    1) Filiming permit

    2) Proof of liability insurance

Here are a couple links for you Lee:

unless the law has changed in nevada, they have laws against what is defined as "sodomy". the law may have changed - i didn't keep up - but it would be well worth checking into.

Sodomy of itself is not a crime in the US anymore after the Lawrence case last summer. Nevada repealed their sodomy law in 199, long before the Supreme Court weighed in on the issue.

I wish all laws that criminalize acts between consenting adults could be repealed~
