    I Wonder? U.G.A.S. Mia

Howcome nobody from there has ever shown up over here? Are they afraid it'll hurt their little avsprograms site?

And how do sites like skaterboyz.com stay on their network? All stolen content, a lot with watermarks on it from the big sites, and a LOT of what isn't watermarked is straight up child porn. Why don't the AVS's do a better job with crap like this? To me that is just plain money hungry bullshit.

I should note that a lot of the AVS's who DO post here do a VERY good job of keeping the junk off their lists. ManCheck is one of the best examples of an AVS well done.

Not picking on GMP, but they accepted KevsCave, which was one of the biggest networks of ripped of content on **** that finally got kicked off, which is a shame. They need to be more strict, and **** too.

Yes, U*G*A*S should show up around here more often... then maybe 'U*G*A*S' wouldn't be a censored word

on the one hand, i make good sales from them - better than from free avs's. on the other hand, they sure don't seem very interested in this board or u*g*a*s or its webmasters in general. i've talked to this one support guy on the phone several times - he barely knows about webmastering, and doesn't sound all that web savvy. i can't imagine this guy on a board.

u*g*a*s should hire a webmaster to work boards and answer questions and liason in general. they should hire me *grin* no, seriously, they are out of touch with us webmasters to a silly degree.

you thought the reviewers know anything about webmastering?
not if they get paid about minimum wage

considering the turnover rate of these people, it's a miracle anyone sticks around to deal with all the webmasters on a daily basis.

actually this one guy was around for a while, and may still be. he told me previously he had worked for a gardener.

wouldn't it make sense to pay someone with a clue a reasonable rate, and let them take care of reviews and some webmaster interaction?

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

Perhaps Dave thinks he is still above everyone else because he runs a couple of AVS systems and that client support isnt needed because he is 'god'

Or perhaps thats just the reason that **** is a banned word around here

    Regards,

    Lee

Robs (U*G*A*S reviewer) has been aroung for years and is a stickler for the rules. However, he doesn't know content, but if you point out stolen content to him, sites will get removed.

You would think after Perfect10 and all of the Titan lawsuits that AVS systems would educate their site reviewers about stolen content... especially now since so many AVS systems like to cloak the content urls of the AVS sites to make it look like the content resides on the AVS's domain.

the person who i talked to more than once on the phone sounds to be a young latin guy. i can't remember his name, but it wasn't robs. perhaps the person i talked to is only phone support, but i felt that knowing the web and our business would have been a plus.

I'm sorry, but this post of yours is absolutely irresponsible, and I'm surprised no one's called you on it.

I had never visited that site before (obviously it's a small one, and WAY off of the radar). But after taking a look I didn't see stuff that I would label as obvious "child porn", and the site certainly doesn't appear to be dedicated to it, either.

Child Pornography is a serious issue, and such accusations shouldn't be thrown around like candy on forums. I've had the pleasure of lecturing to several of the FBI Agents from their "Innocent Images" program at Quantico, and even THEY will tell you that their experts have trouble sorting out what is, and is not, underage content (unless we're talking about obvious pre-puberty stuff). How on earth you think you're able to make that determination, I don't know.

As for whether or not the content is "stolen", who the hell can even tell anymore? A lot of AVS submitters will buy up a ton of cheap sets, and mix and match images between them to make up sites. Mix in all of the free content that sponsors are throwing out left and right to their affiliates, and it's nearly impossible for anyone but the actual copyright owners to know (and most of them throw stuff out to brokers, so even THEY don't have a clue where their content is ending up).

I honestly don't know why anyone would start a thread about a piece of shit site, just to point out that it's a piece of shit, in the first place.

On the same token, I honestly don't know why someone would "ban" a word like **** on a forum, that's just childish, and rather ironic coming from an industry that screams "Free Speech" as its motto.

    (end rant)

JustMe, I agree with most of what you said in your response. "throwing around" accusations and dragging people through the mud in public forums is complete crap.

The reason I said what I did about child porn is because the site contains mostly amateur content, pictures taken at home by teenage guys, and if you had taken a closer look, you can see that a LOT of the pictures are teenagers that obviously are under 18. When it comes to content like this where the webmaster dosn't own 2257 information, I think they should use much better descretion when choosing their "public domain" content. I'm currently working on a gay profile site, and I have to approve new members and pictures, so this is an issue I have been thinking about a lot.

As far as stolen content, there are watermarks from other similar sites like dudesoffcampus. I know for a fact he dosn't borrow out his content to random AVS webmasters. As far as affiliate content, I was referring to watermarked images where the company is not advertised anywhere on the site.

I was calling out the AVS's because they need to be more aware of what they are attaching their name to.

You are right, i'm definately irresponsible. That dosn't stop me from putting stuff out there for the sake of conversation and learning.

X, that's what I was thinking. Everyone at the large AVS's (that I would really like to use on sites) should be on the same page, and know the business they are working in.

This makes me a hypocrite because I don't know it that well. I don't own a large business though either.

Why is UGA S (United Gay Adult Sites) a filtered word? It's still the best, most productive, and most profitable AEN i've ever tried.

See Lee's post above for an explanation. I don't really understand what he's talking about, but there must be some reason behind it, .

I agree about U*G*A*S being a productive AVS. I've been using them for almost 3 years now and I continue to get nice checks from them. And with Michael's (D-bear) encouragement, I'm starting to duplicate that success with MANcheck.
