    My puter died

    I'm so bummed out!

Today I've been working for at least 18 hours trying to fix my toshiba laptop (my main puter for working cause it "used" to rock) ony now, it's a dead "lil 'ole toshiba

    Disk Error
    Disk Error
    Disk Error
    Disk Error
    Disk Error

Argggggggg! I'm insane now (well, I was before but...not cause of that)

Ya know....I was sooooo stupid. I started making a load of sites on Monday. (Got about 7 done) I never backed up one, now they're all gone (I did upload 2 to the server)

Who would think you should "back up" every day?

I know it's been said before and I'll say it again....ppl, Back up your shit while you work!

    Ok, I go cry now!

Are you getting "disk error" during the POST?? Seems I remember a relatively easy fix for that, I can look it up if that's when the error comes up.

I'm using our mac now to get online now.

The disk error was acting like I had a flopy in ( ou know when you try to bootup and it tells ya you have a disk error)

No more disk error, but now can't get past the system file check screen....where you can either let it check or boot normally...it freezes on checking and wont let me skip it either...just wont boot up at all....and when and IF it does, I get the dreaded ms blue screen.

It's so darn weird cause everytime I try to do something, something else (new) happens.

I'll try to take it in...just to see if they can download what I have on this puter to another drive. I'll no doubt have to buy another puter.

So this doesn't become a techie thread, I have to say. This really sucks because it's my partners work puter and some day they'll want it back......needless to say, I best try to get all the site stuff off of it eh!

If you're getting lots of random errors at this point - you might want to check to be sure your ram sticks are good - one may be failing or has failed.

    Thanks Bec!

I'll have to download icq, or I'll use the online version.

I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to the "inside" of pc's...any help is really appreciated!
