converting mpg to something else

i have a 200+ mb mpg that i want to shrink in file size and/or convert to other formats.... im on a mac... i have final cut express and adobe premier.. as well as quicktime pro.... but i cant seem to do anything other than make the file bigger...

help!?

lower the resolution down, lower video the bitrate down, lower the audio bitrate

if you've got Express, i don't think Compressor comes bundled with it... that's the best way to go.. and you can use Media Cleaner if you have it (I think you do.. I thought you mentioed it to me once)

I can send you a bunch of settings to use for either program.

Aren't you glad you have a video editor mac-head in the family?

what dimensions are on the file you have.. how much smaller does it have to be, and how long is it?

and what are you using it for?

its 320x240, 10 minutes long, 203 mb
