    Spam that's just stupid...

I find it weird that since I started joining many affiliate programs that now I'm getting all kinds of spam at my private email addy....

    For an example....
I get an email asking if I want to exchange links...for my site USATOGAY.com

Hence the word "Gay"...they were a "straight" sex toy site.

Now, gimme a break....what could "I" possibly gain there?

    They wrote -

I've visited usatogay.com today, and really like it. I run a site
similar to yours, and I was wondering if you would like to trade links
with me? You can see my site at "bla, bla, bla"

WTF is "similar to yours"? They are a fucking straight site!!! They have pics of pussy and women everywhere...

    So, I wrote back -

I apperciate your wanting to exchange links. But, the last thing a gay man wants to see is a womans vagina looking at them when they click on a "SexToy" site.

I have very little "Lesbian" traffic and even so, I don't think your site is set up for gay traffic and I can't see where I would gain.

If you have gay sex toy site, I would gladly have a look at it...however I would want my link in "that" area.

So, you see I've been gettting all kinds of Spam from stupid fuckers as of late...it's driving me nutz!

    You and me both.

It's astounding to me that webmasters will harvest other webmaster's email addresses and then spam them like they're surfers.

    Stupidity.

Well, at least I know now that it isn't just me ... I've been getting that same email, and hell, a lot are asking to hook up to my mainstream lesbian site ... it isn't even aksing about my porn sites! Like, if I ever push porn off my mainstream, those links go to something I own or affiliate! LOL

i've been getting those emails for over 7 years. the people who write them don't look at your site - they buy a list of webmaster email addresses and send to all. i have two sites that had no pages in them at all that received emails that said they really liked my site *LOL

The other thing that's happening -- I know because we used a company that does this -- is that there are a bunch of companies in India that do search optimization , and they build links and link-backs... and to do that, they have the site owner set up an email that looks like it's going to the site owner that is *really* going to the SEO staff in India.

The company we used (not for an adult site) had like 20 people researching sites and sending link requests. Most were somewhat on the mark, but some were laughably off-topic... and I had to explain that we didn't *want* links from completely off-topic sites that were inappropriate for our topic material. (I think the Indian employees got paid for each link that recriprocated, hence the strategy of getting a bazillion not-terribly-related links.)

They ultimately did good work, got us in the top 20 for a very competitive set of keywords, but unfortunately went out of business soon after.

I've noticed that a lot of the link requests I get now, when I trace the originating IPs, are coming from outside contractors rather than site owners, so I think that's part of the nature of things like a gay site getting requests from a straight site.

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

Either way, what "nim-rod" spams an adult webmaster with their shit?
They have no idea who they're spamming...they just figure they're hitting all kinds of ppl and going to get signups?

Ohhhh, brother! I don't just get it....

The idiot has a REAL phone # to call...so, naturally I call!!!

The idiot tells me that I must have signed up with them in order to get thier email..."Oh YEAH" I say, "I'm UNDERWEIGHET you stupid idiot as are MOST my friends". "There is NO way me nor anyone in my household signed up to receive any SPAM from you"!

Futhremore, I tell the spammer that I'm an adult webmaster and own 17 websites...that I do NOT approve of spam and that I'll be reporting him to the FTC!

So the dumb shit tells me that maybe someone signed me up, maybe a friend or something and gave them "my" email address....I said "Listen, and listen cause I wont repete it stupid f**ker", "IF you do NOT have a way of checking when someone uses a email address that does NOT belong to them...then you ARE NOT to send that email address any emails!!!"

    He insist, that's he's correct...WTF?????

I tell ya SPAM is getting way the hell outta hand...and the stupid people are so asking for it, in so far as the fines, the post on message boards, the dissing and whatever else they can get!!!!!

Well, my rant is over...but, I'm sure the spam isn't...

I'm sooooo tempted to ask people here to call his number and teach him the "rules" of sending emails...

After all, if you are stupid enough to put your toll free number out there and dumb enough to spamm ppl with it, you deserve to lose your toll free and or have it swamped with calls about learning about NOT spamming!

A side note here...I'm 1000% sure, I in NO way opted to have this sucker send me any emails! Call away...hehe
