Where do you shoot your content?

I was wondering do you mainly shoot content in a studio, your home? I have also seen some content shot outdoors, what is involved with doing your content outdoors? What are the laws on this where you reside? Thanks for the help guys.

every city & state has different laws. shooting in your home is risky, some models are less than honest... but there are zoning issues sometimes with studios & such...

best thing is just to decide what city you want to shoot in, and call a lawyer.

outdoor shooting is the same... just depends on where youre at.

A lot of people fly below radar and shoot outdoors in an obscure location (park, etc), but there are certainly risks involved.

Here in California, things are generally pretty mellow (in northern CA in particular, the police generally don't pay much attention to nudity as long as you aren't blatant -- and even, sometimes, if you are, such as at Pride or Folsom Street Fair.

We sometimes use abandoned buildings or places like that, but only after checking them out to have a reasonable sense that no one will be coming around to bother us.

A lot of amateur producers use hotel rooms, but we generally use them only as a last resort because they tend to be very monotonous and boring settings.

And depending on where you're located, shooting in your home can be really risky from a zoning perspective... the owner of amvc.com did jail time when an overzealous prosecutor wanted to nail him and the only thing he could find was a zoning issue.

We "were" going to start shooting our own content last summer, but bulding our house just got in the way (basically , we just wern't ready and still aren't...the plans got too big!)

When we're ready (this summer...I hope), we'll be shooting most of our content in the new house...we'll be set up inside as well out doors with sites to shoot at.

We live on a small private 50 acre lake and are going to be doing alot of outdoor nature shots too...the inside (our studio) was built into the house plans! Always thinking ahead!

Then again, I live with a designer who's been desinging for over 24 years and has always wanted a HUGE studio....so, they're the one to thank for the sweet plans!

I'll show pics when it's done )in about 2 months - God willing! We've only been building this damn job for 3 1/2 Years! Arrggggggg!)

    Motel6

Seriously though, there are some really nice hotels and i dont htink many of the amateur producers know that if they spend a little more they can actually get some good deals for some of the top notch hotels.

Also, if you build up a rapport with the hotels you may use for shoots, some of them will be willing to let you shoot in places other than the room we found out

    Regards,

    Lee

Lee makes a good point. We've found that, particularly on weekends, a nice room at a high-end hotel often isn't more than $20-30 more than a motel 6, and if you plan it right, you can get 4 or 5 shoots done by doing early check-in at 10am and arranging to check out late the following day.

But it never occurred to me to tell the hotel we were shooting porn and build up a rapport with them... I guess they specialize in discretion, and money is money, so most of them probably wouldn't mind.

I remember a video a few years back, I think it was "Crucial Encounters," that supposedly took place in a "college dorm" but it was really obvious that said "college dorm" was a 2 floor hotel suite... the giveaway was the towel rack in the bathroom stuffed with hotel towels and the hotel notice on the back of the door to the suite

Ahhh shooting porn, but what, when like me, you have a webcam house? has anyone else had issues? we went though 2 years of hell a couple of years back because we moved to a very upscale neighbourhood, and althoughh we had no city problems and initally no HOA issues the neighbours hated us with a passion and finally founs a religeous right attourney to drag us though every legal motion they could try till we got so sick of spending our profits on attourneys that we just moved.

anyone else ran into any issues?

BTW we moved to a bigger house in a not so upscale neighbourhood and the neighbours ( of the 1 we have) are really cool.

damn that sucks. That is ridiculous. I am glad it worked out but what you do in your house should be your business. Gotta love neighbors and the religious right.

oh we stucvk it out for 2 years, they tried everything legal and illigal, from harassing the boys in the house, to tracing them though car tags and calling theire work and parents, to constant complaints to the police about such horrible things such as "Excessive laughter" I KID YOU NOT ! it got so bad the cops theatened to arrest them if they didnt stop making complaints. However when they decided to call the local media was the best. coming out of the front door to take out the garbage to a line of TV trucks and reporters, That was actaully a fun day and we came off looking like the good guys there was evene a tv spoof done abot it: the video is here:

Wow thanks for the links. I love the spoof you guys did, .

I am shaking my head because if this had actually been a straight house I am sure the neighbors wouldn't of mind. I love your feeds and so do my members.

actually most of the straight houses have been forced to move, or hit with injunctions repeatedly. you wouldn't want to know for a FACT that people actually had SEX in your neighborhood, would you?

    *LOL*
