You know I worked at Cox cable and headquarters was beginning testing on a new cable box that will monitor what you watch on T.V., for how long, when you turn the channel, what you turn it to, at what point in the program you turned the channel etc.

Yea, if I can do it on a computer network and my cable company can see into my modem then I’m sure that they can know what you’re watching and the channels with those cable boxes.
I would bet it is stated somewhere in your contract that you sign that they use the info for tailoring advertising across their local networks. :angel:

Yeah crazy eh? It's bad enough they overcharge you for Cable and internet... but yeah imagine the information they get from you subscribing to their cable TV and Internet. Hell if ratings were down on a TV show you used to watch and you were surfing the web you could get a popup reminding you to go watch the show... or mysteriously you net access would be temporarily down LOL

Did you see the post I made about Gmail? They admit in their privacy statement that they open your email, scan it and put advertising in the messages you send, and receive! So no need for spam anymore because every email itself becomes it's own tailored spam! Yeah! There's a lot more to it but this post is rambling on
