Tour Pages - How Many To Have?

Just wondered if you folks had noticed whether a certain number of tour pages worked better with certain niches?

For example, ive been checking out our stats for a few programs over the last hour or so and have noticed that sites for mature men convert better for us when there are 2 or more tour pages whilst sites for twinks seem to convert better when there are 3 plus pages on the sites tour.

Has anyone els noticed something similar with their sponsors tours and the niches being promoted?

From looking over the stats really quickly, it seems the twink, bear, and amateur sections convert pretty well for us, but other sections of our previews are still doing pretty well. Most sign ups are in the first 1-3 pages of the tour pages for those sections in our video category.

I haven’t had a chance to fully check every webmaster account we have now, but those are over all from reports I’m seeing thus far. Our previews is too massive to give you more detailed break down right now, but I’ll have some more details shortly.

My site is transparent and the linear tour isn't usually the way surfers travel, they pick models from the preview page. Alexa and my stats program Urchin have me at 11 page views average per surfer. I haven't checked to see how many page views until the sale is made.

Do you think it's a niche based concept or a traffic based concept? Perhaps the more targeted the traffic for your niche, the less page views and higher conversions you'll have?

A very valid set of questions Squirt.

Personally, i think it may be a segment of both, finding traffic for any niche and then filtering that traffic by a specific niche which, very few webmasters actually do.

Would be interested in seeing what everyone else thought of this too :thumbsup:

Oh and another thought struck me..

Could it also be a content based concept? I know the tours we send traffic to have very few models on them that are used by everyone else and, they dont use exclusive content either

Perhaps there is something to be said for checking out which sponsors use different models on their site tours?

You know, exclusive content converted VERY well. However, I also believe it is like sales where when I sold movies to stores. If they have never had it, it's new to them.

In my "synapses" of the video, for models that have been shot by other sites, I work in the affiliate link by saying something like "if you want to see more of Jeff go here" etc.

I've found that having original content of a model that's been shot on other sites is a plus because they will sign up for your site, or your affiliates site, to see that models different video

Yes definately. You know this sparked me to compare page views on popular sites like seancody, justusboys, amateurstraightguys, etc. and they all differ.. some have high page view averages ( 5 to 11 ) others have a lot fewer page views ( 2 to 4 ).

So what can you deduct from that and how does it relate to the number of tour pages you should have?

ya know, for our site it depends on what your traffic wants. Our tour on JustUsBoysClub.com is massive. The video section alone is over has over 23 pages of movies, with 20 links to a preview of each movie. Comes to 460 preview pages with 5 thumbnails on each page.

That isn’t counting the photo gallery, live feeds, toons, free daily video clip, and the erotic story pages. (plus all the updates.) :angel:
