    Yahoo Groups?

What are 2 or 3 of the best "happening" gay groups on Yahoo?

    Thanks!

no idea but they tend to be here today gone tomrrow.

Yahoo yanks them off without any warning either for copyright problems or high traffic

Yahoo groups are an easy way to get people looking at your sites. VERY easy.... the traffic converts pretty well, but you have to have a BIG group or post to a lot of them. If it is done right, it can make a nice little income. I’ve seen 1 email to them get 5 sign ups in one day.

Slade, send me over your contact info and I will give you my lists of groups. I have a HUGE list of them.

Andy Mike's Yahoo thing is amazing.

When I was doing TGP Galleries and free sites, I'd do a Yahoo mailing, and the singups would start right up.

But you need a LOT more than 3 or 4..you need like 3 or 4 Hundred.

And constantly look for new ones.

I’m still getting sign ups from them. FHG and MGP links do well in them. One sponsor I have over 112 sales in a few months.

You really need to be careful with yahoo groups and exporting that database. People sign up to get email from yahoo, not things sent to them from outside sources.

I have been promoting via Yahoo and MSN Grfoups for years. I do get ther occasional crank email from someone who signed up for a group and left their default email preference as "Receive all messages posted to the group in your email inbox" and now they wnat to know, "How did you get my emai address?" etc. I just reply and explain that if they dont want to receive message sposted to the group as email, they need to go to the group and change their email preferences. I am not spamming them, I dont even have their emaill address. I just posted a message to the Yahoo group.

It is a great promotional venue, but you do need to prune and keep up and add to your group list constantly.

It is great for traffic, but don't put all your eggs in one basket.

It's a hit or miss thing, the traffic is like that of a normal tgp site. A lot of it, but not always a lot of conversions.

True, but it is targeted traffic. If someone reponds to my offer from a gay ebony Yahoo group, they will be more likely to buy what I am selling, I specialize in gay ebony niche.

Yes, that is true. However, 75-80% of that traffic wants free porn. So that is why I say it is more like a tgp site's traffic.

One thing I did notice about it, when you make a sale from a niche specific group, it tended to retain for longer. :specs:

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

But isnt that also true from any form of traffic? just curious as i have never used groups for promotional purposes, more along the lines of research purposes

Targeted traffic is always better. My site, Black Hotboy http://blackhotboy.com is in the gay ebony niche. If someone visits and signs up for my newsletter, I have high confidence that they are into gay ebony niche and those subscribers to that opt-in emailing list are my gold. I may change sponsors but that is my ready-made prospect list. I currently have about 6000 names on my list and I want it to grow to 10K or more.

Conversely, I don't do well in sales of generic gay sites full of white boys. And I have never made a dime on straight porn, even with my TGP BlackHotboyTGP http://blackhotboytgp.com
So I stick with what I know.
