Acronyms

I’ve been researching as much as I can and have come to the conclusion that no matter how hard you look, you will not find the definition of every acronym.

Here is a small list of what I have come across:

SEO, TGP, TMP, AVS, IPV and AEN

Now I know what TGP and AVS mean but what do the others mean? And could you add to the list with any that I have yet to see?

It would be nice to have an Adult Webmasters Dictionary of some sort.

Can I be picky?

An acronym is actually a word usually pronounced as such, formed from the initial letters of other words. For instance, AWOL is an acronym.

The list you provided are actually initialisms, which are a group of initial letters used as an abbreviation for a name or expression.

You may want to try Google in your quest for what's behind initialism and acronyms. If you type the following into Google:

define:avs

You will often, not always, but often get a page of useful information. Try it with the one above and make sure you scroll through the listing, you'll see a variety of answers.
