NASA Researchers Claim Evidence of Present Life on Mars

WASHINGTON -- A pair of NASA scientists told a group of space officials at a private meeting here Sunday that they have found strong evidence that life may exist today on Mars, hidden away in caves and sustained by pockets of water.

The scientists, Carol Stoker and Larry Lemke of NASA’s Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley, told the group that they have submitted their findings to the journal Nature for publication in May, and their paper currently is being peer reviewed.

What Stoker and Lemke have found, according to several attendees of the private meeting, is not direct proof of life on Mars, but methane signatures and other signs of possible biological activity remarkably similar to those recently discovered in caves here on Earth FULL STORY

So, with this current evidense.. do you think we should equip the rover we're sending to Mars in 2009 with some sort of drill to go under the surface and find more proof? If there was life on mars, what would you do?

if there is life on mars, why should we disturb it? it's existing at its own pace and development - so are we. it's not like people on this planet have been exactly respectful of the rights of others here... our various governments will fight over them like a dog over a bone unless we decide to kill them because they MAY be dangerous or treat them as lab experiments.

yah i agree, our race is too meddlesome to have the power to explore space.

and what i also find funny, is how they define life. theyre defining life by our standards, by the way we live on earth. martians may not need water or oxygen or any of the other shit we do to live, and yet if they dont find these things, the scientists discount the planet & say there is no life.

we have enough problems on our own planet, why spend $$ looking for another planet to fuck up.
