Do colors make your sales?

I am spending this weekend working on testing new galleries and layouts for our webmasters. (I know, how boring.) While making the last 15 galleries to test, it made me wonder, how many other webmasters and programs take the extra step to test the colors they use?

I have noticed over the years that using certain color’s on galleries based off niches helps in sales. I.E. Latin men do well with #------ but don’t sell well if you use #------. Black content do well with #------- but don’t sell well with #------.

I know that sales based off color is something that I test with galleries that I make for the program I work for (cough mesmerotic.com), but how many other webmasters test the colors they use before making a gallery? I’m really intrested in hearing some over all results from galleries you have made in the past with different color combinations.

I don't have any stats myself but would tend to lean towards a white back with blue link and black text if I had to say what my best color combination 'seems' to be

I have not personally tested gallery colors but I think colors definetly make a huge difference. I have read several articles on colors on webpages. I wish I could find some of those pages. I know colors make a huge difference in websites and I am sure they would make a difference on galleries as well.

the only niches i make sales on white or light colors are twinks, str8 guys, girls in socks, and sometimes girls with freckles. oh, and ONE layout on muscle, with dark blue links. i make good shemale sales on red or burgundy backgrounds, good gay sex on blue(not too dark), black male and muscle on black.

Oh its definately worth taking the time to test out a variety of colors to match a variety of marketing techniques.

We did this a couple of years back and the results on some of the most commonly used colors on galleries specifically, compared to colors that you perhaps wouldnt have thought about using were amazing.

Im sure that the results from the 3 month test we did will have changed by now though.

Might hae to get into testing some more colors again soon
