What To Write About In A Blog?

So i decided to start a blog of my own and i have hit my first hurdle LOL

What do i write about?

I really doubt this thing is even going to get 50 hits a month as all it is going to be is something to take my mind of work for 5 minutes each day but non-the-less, i want to put 'something' in it so, what would you suggest?

My suggestion is to start with something you like - it'll help a great deal in the beginning. Often people post links to funny sites they have found, current affairs or a particular issue that they feel needs advocating. I don't really know what to say other than this.

You need to make the choice between linking to items that already appear on a zillion other blogs, or create your own original items that other people will link to.

Blogging has gotten very popular and competitive. Two topics that are NOT needed are:

-"Day One: I got up, ate breakfast, did some things. Day Two: I got up, ate breakfast, did some things. Day Three: I got up, ate breakfast, did some things... Rinse and repeat."

-Repeating the same mainstream news story over and over. For instance, if you put in your two cents about Charles and Camilla, what new information can you add to the story? How will that get you ranking in Google when every other news source is reporting the same story word for word?

Now go out and MAKE some news!

Actually, I think you'll do rather well with a blog site Lee.

Yes, and start with the things that interest you.
I know you work your butt off keeping this board alive and going strong...so, just remember that what you put in is what you'll get out.

As I see it, you've got a lot of experience in keeping peoples interest, so again, I think you'll do well!

See if I were to do a blog, I think the thing to do would be to have one that would have some kind of exclusive information. That is why people would visit you. Kind of like that young kid who has the Apple blog, and the company just sued him for allegedly releasing trade secrets.

Surely one would want to blog on a subject that is their passion. And I'd pick one that isn't particularly covered widely.

Maybe if I did a blog, I would do something like Almodovar movies. Actually I would do something Texas related. But for me I tend to already essentially channel this kind of stuff into my websites.

If you can make it interesting, do it.

Thanks for answering some of my partners questions last night, and it sounds like you are pretty positive about our products. Definitely plan on participating in some discussions here.
