Doing Business in Japan

Been trying to get some business contacts set up in Japan to accomplish a few target goals..

1. Get wholesale sourcing on videos for resale in the US market
2. Find and contract photographers to do gay japanese photo shoots
3. Find and contract videographers to do gay japanese video shoots

We have contacted several porn companies in Japan, via email, letter, letters written in Japanese, direct contact through emissaries going to Japan..
all with no luck.

Anyone with any suggestions on how to tap into this market to accomplish the 3 stated goals above ?

Asian people as a whole are very skeptical when it comes to new business relationships but we have been trying for several years without progress...

Perhaps I am missing something?

Perhaps someone on the board has some referrals or suggestions?

The only thing I can help with is that they have very strict obscenity laws. My site was featured in a Japanese magazine called G-Men and I was mailed a copy of the magazine as a thank you. When it arrived all of the pictures they had used from my site had the cocks blacked out. And it's just the cock that's a problem. In one picture they left the prince albert ring coming out of his cockhead, but blacked out the whole cock. In another they blacked out the cock, but left the cum all over his belly.

I'd highly recommend getting in touch with some legal counsel who is familiar with Japan.

Yes we know about the obscentiy laws in Asian countries, we've been shooting in Thailand for years, and have talked with many people about Japan, (no firsthand knowledge on this one) and we know about the Japanese magazine you referenced.. they have been featuring our asianguys.com site for some time, and we get free copies as well....
but even when we contact companies that are making and selling gay porn, they never respond. We even got on the phone with them once and they told us they would get back to us, never did...

Attorneys would not be the place I would turn to develop Japanese business contacts... they are great for advice, great for counsel, but not great for porn business contacts in Japan. IMHO

for the last three years I have been trying to find japanse content, and looking for anyone over there. I even told my x bf when he moved home to try to find anyone even with a dig. cam. no luck.

They have a HUGE market presence in Japan and some of their models are hot too

I know they do a lot of stuff for Japanese online stores too and they are one of, if not, the biggest Japanese gay porn producing companies over there ::

Exactly what I was going to advise. Even then, good luck. Being an American overseas and trying to work with locals is usually very very difficult. And as you know their culture is more uptight sexually then ours.

Why do your filming and photos have to be done in Japan? If you work SanFran and Vancouver Canada there are tons of hot Asians. I'm in Ausralia now and there are as many Asians here as there are in SanFran.

Asian students are supported by their parents. So they don’t have the need as much for cash. Or they are really shy about stripping for the cam. On the other hand the ones that are willing want so much money it’s not even funny.

Also I think that most of the Asian porn comes from Manila, Indo.or BKK because the guys are so dirt poor and the us dollar goes so far over there.
