I have a few friends in mainland china, and all 4 of them say that they can’t get to my web sites. So am I blocked, are you blocked, did they really stop porn there?
To bad 8 billion credit cards there.

Hey there, thats a good question and, one that i dont think many webmasters are aware of.

Throughout the world there are several countries that block access to pornographic websites and, China specifically has just started to take a more 'pro-active' approach to blocking internet access of porn sites.

Yes, I guess they are starting to block some sites. I have a co-worker in China right now who can't access your site, ponyboy. Nor can he access Badpuppy or Dog Gone Video.

But he can access lots of other stuff.

China has actually done something that people thought could not happen in the Internet age. The government has successfully blocked all porn plus any other sites that the givernment deems as inappropriate.

I do not think they can pull up most press websites either. I doubt you can pull up a site that describes what occured at Tiananmen Square.

This is a scary twist, because it was first considered that the Internet would make it more difficult then ever for governments to control information. I think Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries have made similar moves, but none as comprehensive as communist China.

Personally, I would not make any effort to do business there. If you want a fast growing population for your web products, pick a free democracy like India, which I think will really shine over the next 10 - 20 years..

The funny thing is we watch or I should say Eric watches CCTV from mainland chaina from dishnet-work. When they report the news from the usa it’s pretty fair, no lie. They do broadcast in English twice a day.
Now I’m wondering if porn is blocked in Hong Kong?
