    Anyone Heard of This Company?

    Adult Erotic Videos of Atlanta.

One of my cam guys is doing an amateur video with this company and I thought I'd ask around to see if anyone has heard of them or knows anything about them. The cam guy is cute, but he ain't the brightest bulb in the lamp and I don't want him getting burned.

Apparently the guy he is doing the video with will be "tailed" by an HBO crew who is doing some kind of expose' on him. I asked my cam guy to tattoo menwithcams.com on his ass, just in case. LOL

Anyway, any word on this company is appreciated. The contract he will be asked to sign gives them the ability to sell the video for 5 years. Don't know if thats normal or not, but if you have input on that, that might help too.

    Hmmmm.

Like Steven, we asked around as well and we also couldn't find anybody that had ever heard of Adult Erotic Videos. And a business entity search search for Atlanta as well as Georgia also came up empty.

I would be suspicious. A lot of our models are pretty close friends with AJ and I, and so we get regular "updates" on the scams that people try to pull. This sounds remarkably like some of the stories our models get told by guys trying to "hire" them for a shoot (usually, of course, requiring a free "audition" video.) I can't tell you how many times models have told us about someone who "was working with HBO/MTV/Cinemax/whomever", or "was the main photographer for Badpuppy" but conveniently didn't know the names of any of the people at Badpuppy, that sort of thing. When models have asked me to check something out 'cause it sounded a little suspicious, almost always it's been bogus.

While the story mentioned could be true, it sounds more like our former "model scout", a guy claiming to own a large modeling agency who turned out to be some guy that just wants to take pictures of guys jerking off for his own jollies.

Please let us know what comes of it.

I've seen shit like this happen so many times... As soon as the big names start dropping, some guys think they've made it.

I'll bet that HBO has never heard of this guy at all, and that your guy is just doing a free jerk off video for a guy that will just use it for himself, and never pay him or worse.

I'd pull him outta there as fast as you can.

Hmm, I'm reminded of an established company based oi Sacramento, Altomar Men. I had sent them an e-mail about working for them and they responded that they'd love to have me drive to Sacramento and do a video. Then I read the following:

"This is considered a SCREEN TEST. And you will be required to sign a
standard model release and have your photo I.D. documented. The outcome of this video session and interview will determine whether we will develop a
    work / play relationship.

For doing the screen test, you will receive:
    - A copy of the video(s) you appear in,
    - promo fliers about your movies,
    - copies of all still digital images & photographs taken during the session
    - 50% OFF All Altomar Movies purchased directly from us,
    - the opportunity for lots of FUN and GOOD SEX...a lots more!"

In other words, you work for us, sign a release, we make money off of you, and you get to have "FUN." Hey I may be cheap but I'm not free!

Of course when I started shooting for my site, models had to have a certain amount of faith that I would pay them. Of course I wasn't claiming HBO was following me around! I'd say if it sounds too good to be true...aww, you know the rest!

Ugh, I hear what you're saying. (Andy, love ya mean it, by the way ). I've never been in front of the camera before yet, but I've had a few folks claiming to be with this studio or that studio (none I heard of). They're just looking for marks.

I remember one person in particular that was looking for people to play with on camera to make his own videos. The "payment" was getting to play with "the best" (yeah, I rolled my eyes too.) The videos were amateur/homebrewed and sold for $70 a pop. That's what I call being cheap. LOL.

My experience in the music industry has taught me that ifsomeone has to tel you that they're famous, they're not.

if they have to impress you with who they workfor or how successful you'll be for knowing them, run.

as soon as they try to tell you that you should work for them for th honour of working for them, you know that they're trying to rip you off.

The really sad thing is a lot of guys fall for this. Why, I have no idea. That and the "Oh I'll take these photos of you jacking off and submit them to Playguy and we'll split the money if you get published" by someone that's never been published (and probably never submitted)
