Anyone here good with Google adwords? Im so lost with it

I did an avs site and I wanted to buy text ads and am using Google Adwords.
Ive used it for a couple of days and spent $30.91 so far and haven't gotten any sales.
Heres a screen shot of my ad campaign, can someone tell me if this looks alright or if it's way off?

and if you have any suggestions for improving it, let me know.
I know absolutely nothing about ads or search engines and am just making guesses and id love some advice.

    thanks!

It's hard to give much advice with the information that you provided. A couple of things I noticed...

Your CTR is quite good for the "Search Total" but not as good for the "Content Total". I generally don't bother letting my ad be served on anything but Google... you'll get the best bang for your buck there. Go to "Edit Settings" and uncheck "search network" and "content network" under "Show ads on Google and the". This way all of your budget will got to ads that are served on Google.

Your CPC for your search terms is very expensive. That is because "ebony males" and "black guys" are very broad and popular terms. "Black guys" is costing you $.47 per click... very pricy. I would target less expensive/popular words. And remember, you can use hardcore words and phrases for your search terms. And there are ways to limit your search terms to the exact phrase, although it is too complicated to go into here.

Your ad text is very blah and general. You can't use hardcore words in your ad, but you can spice them up and make them hotter. A lot of people will tell you to put the cost of your site membership in your ad. This will limit you ad clicks to more serious surfers that are willing to part with some $$$. I've never tried that but it might be worth experimenting with.

In my experiences, Adwords can be the BEST tool or the WORST tool for getting signups. It takes a lot of tweaking and effort but when it pays off, it is worth it. But sometimes I just have to give up. Another thing to consider... maybe the site that you are sending traffic to is just not that great. Maybe you should submit your site for review here on GWW. I did that and I got a lot of great feedback.

The search terms are very broad. One time I used terms such as "gay guys" or "gay sex" and they were sucking the daily limits out of my campaign. They'd get 20 clicks a day while everything else was getting single digits.

They got a lot of clicks because they are very high traffic keywords, but they're not necessarily profitable. You get a lot of tire-kickers that way. I learned the hard way that it is very important to be as targetted as possible. Those particular terms in your picture can be used to describe many many things, not just sexual content.

If you're unsure about keywords, enter them into the google search yourself. If a lot of non-sexual results comes up, it's not a good keyword.

Try targetting further. Perhaps the names of the models, if they are famous porn stars. Try keywords like "gay black" or "gay ebony" or "black male models" etc. Use terms that are unmistakably about your site and wouldn't be used or confused for anything else.

    Good luck!

Also, try spicing us your copy, like Xstr8guy suggested. Usually short, one-line phrases can be enticing.

    An ad I've used:

    Hot Male Videos
    Watch Hot Gay Porn Online!
Pay by the Scene. No Monthly Fee.

Not relevant to your content, but you get the idea. Let them know there is payment involved so you don't get folks just looking for freebies.

for keywords, you need lots of relevant ones like
    black cock
    black dick
    black men
    gay black men
    black studs
    black hunks
    ebony studs
    ebony hunks
    and so on...

    and don't forget things like
    gay black sex
    gay black porn
    etc...

for your ad, it really is not very exciting. how about something letting the surfers know this is XXX material?

Hard Black Men in Gay XXX
Hot Ebony Studs with Huge Tools
in Gay Sex Pics and Vids - just $2.95

this isn't the best ad i could write, and the lines may not be quite right in length, but it was to give you an idea...

I found that when I was running an AdWords campaign, the general search traffic for my "non paid" keywords dried up totally. Its as if they know that my URL is paying for some keywords and it got removed from the search database for all other keywords.

Hey, you know that happened to me too. It took about 4-6 months of running the ad continously and most of my good keywords went from top 5 to nowhere to be found. Hmmm, I wonder if there is any other documentation on this type of event?

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men? IntenseCash.com's Avatar

I would suggest more specific keywords and turn down your max per click. I would never set the max per click more than 20 cents. I have mine between 5-7 cents max per click right now and easily do around 150 a day easily.

i've never paid more than 15 cents a click - usually 12 or less depending on the results of the ad.
