a few ways you can find gay traffic include:

google adwords (good stuff if you know how to write good no-dirty word text)

if you have galleries to send traffic to, try buygaytraffic. i am happy with my gallery results there.

i haven't had great luck with sex.com but some people may do better. it's worth a try - some people make money there.

you can pay people to make and post galleries.

you can buy banner or text spots on hunkhunter.

you can pay a designer to make 5 or 10 totally different fpa's with plenty of relevant text, and get them out there for search engines.

you can list some galleries on chokertraffic and askjolene.

you can buy space on big link sites.

Looking outside the norm usually works the best. There are lots of great private ad networks that can yield amazing results. I'd recommend spending time on networks like adbrite.com. They provide text ads on a varitity of websites and sometimes you can get amazing value, $10 for 1000 + target clicks to your website. Plus best of all the visitors to these sites aren't being slammed with porn traffic 24-7 so you get a better conversion.

For general high traffic rates I'd have to agree with the above poster and suggest BuyGayTraffic there pricing is very fair, and they are very quick to process your order and deliver a fair product. On the downside if its for a pay site I found there traffic converts poorly. I tried it on a test run to a special link and sent 2,000 users to a free membership promo. My theory was if one person signed up for a free trial and rebilled, it would pay for itself. We didn't get a single free signup from it, so again its not recommended for pay sites.
