    Internext Booths

I wanted to get some feedback concerning Internext booths. This will be our first year to participate, and we wanted to know if a booth investment is worth the money the first year coming.

    Any help is appreciated!

LTC Nick, amazing how many of my Florida neighbors I meet here.

The Summer Show this year is trying a different format, more of a networking event and while there is indeed a show floor, there are many sponsorship opportunities loacted all around the hotel. I think many attendees while be exploring them to "see what's behind door number two."
The message there is two fold, one os that I think people will take a tour of the show floor, but with the entire Westin as a "Product Placement Bonanza," I think a lot of time will spent on the treasure hunt around the complex. Being tied to a booth, in this instance, may distance you from the very people you want to meet.

We've exhibited at several shows now. My two cents is that especially at this summer show with its new venue, I think the action will not be on the show floor. The Vegas show is the biggest draw as Vegas in the winter is a much bigger draw the Hollywood in the summer first of all and nothing against Hollywood, but Sin City lures many wm's just for the casino's that don't attend the summer show. My advice would be, to get the best bang for you buck, save the booth for the Vegas show next January. I would also get in touch with AVN InterNext and see what other sponsorship opportunites are available for the summer show, compare it to a booth and make an informed decision.

I haven't been to the Florida show, but I've been to the Las Vegas show, and my company has attended both shows. Vegas was overwhelmingly straight, and my feedback from coworkers was the Florida was as well. There were gay companies on the show floor in Vegas, but the biggest and flashiest booths were straight, as were most of the attendees.

Nick, I would suggest just going to the Florida show and checking it out. If you want to sponsor something, there will be events and parties that will be geared specifically towards the gay community. You'll get a bigger bang for your buck sponsoring one or more of those.

I think you can often get more business done at the parties than you can on the show floor.

    Cheers

I echo both comments. We seriously considered doing a booth in Vegas this year, and decided instead to focus on sponsorship and just getting around and meeting and networking with everyone at the parties, for the reason that Harlan mentioned. As long as you're visible and networking, people will find you at the parties the same way they would on the show floor... and it gives you that much more time for meetings and contact that's meaningful.

Cool! Now we can walk around and network and not be stuck behind a booth. Works for me! Thanks for your all's input.
    Thanks,

Yep id have to agree with what has been said so far.

Definately opt not to have a booth for this show, especially as it is taking a new format and, realistically, no one knows what the turnout is going to be like.

No point in restricting yourselves by having a booth especially when more and more companies are opting to not have a booth at the shows.

Good point. Thanks Lee. I guess we will just have to keep sponsoring on here instead of the booth! ..
    Thanks,

    Haha that works for me

In all seriousness though, you should spread your sponsorship dollars around, dont just target the GWW community, even though we are definately the largest single gay market resource, dont neglect those straight companies who also have paysites

In todays marketplace it pays to sponsor wherever you can

    Regards,

    Lee
