    ICRA & Digimarc

Any thoughts on the pros or cons of registering my site with ICRA and or using their free Digimarc Watermark tool? Thx, Glen

    Greetings:

I label everything with ICRA, and have for years (aka when I was in the mainstream world).

The advantage to a site in the adult industry, is that it's yet another demonstration that you as a webmaster are doing everything that technology has made available to keep your content away from minors.

If all of your pages are labeled, and registered with all of the commercial content filters, and a child STILL visits it, who's to blaim? I'd say the parents, who didn't even bother to take the time to install one of the many commercial or free content filters that are readily available.

Eventually people will realize that the best way to keep minors away from pornography, is to do the blocking and authentication on the client end, and not the server end....

I agree with JustMe.. I have been using ICRA even before it was ICRA... as well as Safesurf.. Its just one added demonstration of a webmaster attempting to be responsible. It is also perhaps a decent percaution to take.

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

I have to agree with John to.

Anything we can do as webmasters to show due diligence is a good thing, whether that be a warning page or using ICRA ratings in addition to providing parents with links to filtering software such as NetNanny.

Thanks all for the advice, I did it today, and since I use dreamweaver templates, it was easy to add to all my pages.
