    backing up your pc

I have started backing up my pc every week now, including doing a dump of my outlook email box to a pst file...I got reminded the hard way after getting my systems all fried out it last year.

remember kiddies, backup to a removable medium (like cd or dvd) as backup devices can get fried too!!!

Get a RAID harddrive setup.... Saves a ton of time... backup everything on the fly.

I need to do another backup, I'm so bad at this. I'm bumping this thread to get it out of the contest clutter.

I did have a backup device (although not a raid setup), I thought I was perfectly covered but when my house got hit by lightning it fried out all computer equipment including my backup device, & I am sure that it would have also fried out a raid setup.

Don't take soft-copy solutions for granted, these can easily be wiped out too.....go make a hard-copy backup on a dvd or cd and you will be safe!

    cheers,
    Luke
