heres a suggestion for those of you getting into tgp galleries

When you make a gallery, dont have a huge ad or story on top, and then your images/movies in the middle. Where people have to scroll down to find your porn.

When I do galleries I make sure that some of the porn is visible right away without having to scroll down.
When I get galleries that have huge full page ads on them, espeially on top, I reject them.
I was a reviewer for a huge tgp and rejected them there also.
Tgp's get swamped with galleries everyday and getting one thats basically a big ad with some spamm pictures around the ad isn't worth listing.

I dont like fpas in the ad because they take up too much space, slow down the page, and also they often have thumbs in them that make the surfer think they're a part of the gallery. The surfer clicks them, goes to the site when they thought they would see the larger image.

First I must ask the question that all gallery posters would like to ask. Why should we give porn surfers EVERYTHING for free and not be able to agressively market our sponsors?

Why do TGP's exist? To make money for the TGP owner and the gallery submitters. It is not to provided free porn to the entire world.

Sure TGP owners can make money by using only sponsor FHG's, but then every single TGP would have the exact same content. Without gallery submission from real human beings, TGP's will wither and die.

Why do TGP owners make such unreasonable demands on gallery submitters? Now it's all about partner accounts and paid submissions.

Let the TGP's rot and lets make surfers pay for their porn!

tgps exist as another way to distribute traffic. i get my best buying traffic off of tgps with lots of bookmarks - and those tgps get those bookmarkers by giving the surfers what they want.

so basically a tgp walks a thin line between making money and keeping the most surfers possible.

when i was running my own tgp, at least half the webmasters cheated or did REALLY stupid shit like naming their gallery CLICK HERE FOR FREE PICS or choosing the wrong categories every time. that is why partner accounts exist - you give them to webmasters you have a reason to trust so that you don't spend all your time dealing with morons and cheaters.

as far as paid accounts, if i can make $1200 a month from your tgp, why should i complain about paying you $300 a month? after all, the tgp webmaster could have put his own gallery on that spot and made that $300.

none of it seems that unreasonable to me *shrug*

Well these are just suggestions because I get galleries that are poorly done, and then emails asking why they dont get listed.

In my opinion, the point of tgps is to show a sample of what people will get when they join the site. And as a tgp owner I want the sample to look nice.

I get 150 galleries a day and I have 30 spots available. Do I list the galleries with nice big pictures that make my surfers think I have a quality site and keep coming back, or do I list the galleries with large text blinking ads on them that scream "give me your money", that make the surfer uncomfortable and make my tgp look like I post crap?

No one is going to repeatedly visit a site that looks like its all porn advertisements, but they will visit a site that gives away free porn samples and clips.

So then why don't TGP owners create 3-6 templates and then say these are the only templates you can use? Seems to me if webmasters can't be trusted to do the right thing, then give them fewer options and less leeway. Yes, I understand that we lose creativity and everything looks the same, but I think the surfer just really wants to see porn, they don't give a shit if the page is blue or red or whether the thumbs are stacked in 4 columns or 3. I think surfers would actually prefer to have it always the same and that way they know what to do.

I think that would take away the excitement of it.
I went on vacation for a week and pre-loaded my site to only post hosted galleries, so the surfers got the same 8 layouts day after day. I got so many emails saying like what the fuck? Some thought the site was closing.

I dont think most reviewers dont care about how your layout is, colors etc, but when someone sends you a page with a full page ad in the middle, and little 100x100 px pictures surrounding it, it doesn't look nice and I dont list it. Why should I? The gallery builder who sends me that obviously doesnt care about me or my surfers, who I spent years building. Why should I give them my free traffic?

What's the point of this thread again??

If you wanted to give some clever and usefull info to those that never submitted galleries to TGP's I think you've totally not started yet... so I'm still waiting and waiting and waiting for some clever and usefull information on how to succesfully build my galleries.

I mean... I really don't get this thread , just scroll up and read your post... what the ...???

I made a gallery a week or two ago that had a story and it did quite well -- may have to change the sponsor though. It was actually more of a hmmm comic book panel format for lack of a better description.

So, what's your tgp so I don't submit this particular type of gallery to it. No point if it's going to get rejected.

Dzinerbear - tgps owners don't want templated pages. they simply want their rules followed. and it really isn't hard - it really REALLY isn't. check these out and tell me why they're unreasonable:

don't use blurry or pixelated pix that make the models look like crocodiles or mutants

keep your amount of sponsor links down to either 2 or 3 depending on where you post. i make galleries with 2 AND 3, and post 'em different places. you can link a LOT of text or text and a banner with one link - you can link an unlimited amount of text as long as you don't </a> after ever sentence.

don't put your pics way way down - this isn't a full page ad, it's a gallery showing pics. you can put a lot of stuff over your thumbs, but if you want to be posted, don't put 600 pixels worth of stuff over your thumbs. you can get away with 400 or 450 almost everywhere.

don't write descriptions unless they describe the thumbs. a lot of people do this.

use the category that best describes the thumbs, not the sponsor. some people post "amateur" day after day, even though their pics feature a famous male pornstar in a pro shoot. and they're not even promoting an amateur site. what the fuck?

15 - 24 thumbs is good almost everywhere

make your thumbs at least 120 on the large side and you're probably good to go. a little bigger is better.

don't make your thumbs invisible - that means don't make 'em too small, too dark, scattered in a way that makes them actually hard to find. it's a thumbnail gallery - you gotta show some thumbs.

    don't redirect your gallery

I just have to say this -- I luv your galleries basschick! Kinda refreshing. :extat:

P.S. Check your email for that partner account so that I can spot your galleries quicker. And you can eliminate a step.

So, basschick, could you please post two or three different links to your tgp galleries?

I would realllllly love to see them and just compare to what I'm doing wrong.

I get tons and tons of traffic, but rarely a sale. And I'm definatly not fu**ing with surfers or wrongfuly describing my galleries.

    Thanx!!

what's the conversion of TGP traffic?
    my guess 1 in thousands?

TGP2 made me lots of money back in the day, but never had much luck with regular TGP galleries.

    re bigger thumbs

that's true accross the board actually, bigger thumbs would likely decrease your bandwith because surfers are better able to see the image and decide if they want to see the full pic or not

Why TGP2 is not a standard? It sounds much more logical and I believe it might work better for most webmasters.... I like the idea much better than regular TGPS....

I never came across a TGP2 linklist... or seen such TGP galleries so far
