Gay Link Lists and their traffic... after 7 days. The view.

Ok, basically I submitted some 22 AEN sites to the following linklists last sunday - note that some listed all of them while some just few:

So.... Here are the traffic results after 7 days, only for those sites that were submitted last week from only those links and for only those 22 sites:

hunkhunter - 2200 (lists every day)
hunkmen - 1095 (lists every 2-3 days)
gaydemon - 825 (lists daily)
sindbadbookmarks - 704 (listsed on Tuesday)
altagay - 762 (listed on Friday)
manpics - 590 (listed on Wednesday)
maledirectory - 364 (listed on Monday)
justusboys - 273 (listed on Wednesday)
boybookmarks - 290 (lists every 2-3 days)
smaq - 29 (listed on MOnday)
gayfucksites - 94 (listed on MOnday)

Ok, basically I find most of them great, as you have to have in mind that some were updated only on wednesday, others on this thursday, and some did not list ALL sites yet.

But I was totally dissapointed with GAYFUCKSITES and SMAQ.... they both listed my sites somewhere on early Monday....

So.... can you recommend 2 good gay link lists that bring steady traffic, cause obviously I'll need to replace those smaq and gayfucksites...

I'd make the judgement on what happened with the traffic. If you got 3 sales from hunkmen's 2200 and 4 sales from smaq's 29 then why drop smaq?? Volume isn't worth anything unless it converts into $$$.

Well... unfortunatly my stats do not show me where from that user that purchased membership came from.... but it seems quite logical that it is 1:1000 chance that 4 signups came from smaq

But I do agree that volume is not everything. I've noticed that several times before.

Great info! Are those total hits to all of the sites listed or an average for each site?

Nope... those are total hits for only those sites that were listed on sunday. For all those sites.

traffic is nice, but i wish there was an easier way to track it. i'd rather get 20 hits from a site that sells 1:2 than 1000 hits from a site whose traffic converts 1:200.

another webmaster was complaining to me that his galleries sent TERRIBLE hits to his sponsor compared to mine - but it turned out that his very accurate statements on the gallery were filtering the traffic well. he was converting at way under 1:100. my gallery sent a lot more hits, but the gallery i posted the same day he posted his was converting at 1:350. so ultimately that gallery of his made more money than mine, even though he didn't send as much traffic.

Unfortunatly this is all that I can gather from my stats.... cause there is absolutely no way for me to know from which linklist did the member came from... It would be nice to know that ofcourse, so until then I'm still sticking to those linklist that at least send me some traffic... I'm not keeping their logo for 20 hits

Well.. it helps to be gay friendly linklist, since my sites are all gay...

Yep this method Basschick mentioned is one of the easiest ways to 'test' out where the sales are coming from in addition to utilizing multiple linking codes on specific sites.

I think most sponsors these days will allow you to have more than one account with them and some can even condense those accounts into one main account for you

I am surprised that not many responded to this thread, though it changed into tracking stats rather than where traffic come from. But then again, I know why. Years ago, I would list a free website as being updated and I would get 3000 a day uniques. Now... there are junk 25-50 image template sites being generated by gay and straight webmasters every day.

SMAQ is now corporate badpuppy. Recently no updates so maybe they are looking for a new linkster?

What am I saying? Create your 100 sites a day and f+uck the rest. (grrr,laughing) You wont make money that way anymore.

Think about one site that would be special, that you call your own personal site. Use your own words and create a 2-3 page with your personal thoughts in concept with selected sponsor images that you like. So many do a template site with same 30 images. Pick and choise from the set of images purchased. Make your site SPECIAL and different. Do a site like that with your sponsors once a month and I bet you will earn more. Straights can't make a quality gay site... like I can't do a fishy pussy site (sorry... no insult intended to lesbians reading)

Recently I see in SMAQ... many sites with site name 1-2-3-4-whatever. So boring a template that they could not think of a site name besides a number. Dennis from HunkHunter recently wrote me saying he thought it was the Russians. BE DARING and different... and you will earn money.

If you have a quality website... submit to a1gallery.com or a friend of his that is doing the same... a1galleries.com

You would be surprised by the traffic coming from a smaller link list than the well known. No promise that you would be approved. Henry is webmaster of a1galleries. He at least will respond.

and yes... I have a small link list. This was not meant as advertisement, but educational.

I suggest AllGayDirectory.com and Billy's Links at billyspervwebsite.com as heavy-hitting traffic sources. Also, I agree that Green Guy's link-o-rama is good; I continue to get steady traffic from listings months old.
