Outdoor Speaker Systems? Anyone Have One?

If so, how easy was it to setup / install?

We're looking at putting an extension of our sound sytem out in the garden specifically, some wall mounted or inset speakers.

Anyone have one of these systems presently if so, how is the quality and how hard was it to setup?

    Regards,

    Lee

Costco used to have a nice set of Advent outdoor speakers for $50 a pair. They came with mounting brackets and are pretty waterproof. If they still sell them, I recommend them.

I would stay away from the speakers that look like rocks that Home Depot sells. They probably sound like rocks.

Yeah we're looking at the ones that actually get set into the outside wall.

Those plastic rocks one which i saw in Home Depot today just looked tacky

Oh i got your email to Mark im following up on it now and will probably resend that paperwork for you tomorrow to be on the safe side

I used to have a great setup using airports around my place, so I could run music all over the place.

    Bose makes great outdoor speakers.

Yup I've got one, it runs all along the back of my house - the speakers sit up just under the eaves and are completely waterproof.

The quality is amazing and all we needed was four speakers and an amplifier with multiple zones inside.

Total cost was about $500AUS and everyone comments on how good it is.

We tested some of the outdoor rock speakers instore before we went with the other ones - the rock speakers were crap.

    Cheers,

    Allan

Last summer I installed a set on my deck. I got AudioSource speakers from BestBuy. They are only around $50 but they sound great. I have Bose speakers inside my house and the cheap AudioSource speakers sound almost as good as the Bose. My speaker wiring runs though the soffit fascia of my house.

it shouldn't be that hard to hang a couple of good speakers ( bose ) high along the wall outside and direct the wiring back to the reciever/amp providing of course you have enough speaker ports! , just keep in mind if you "turn it up" inside late at night don't forget the "symphony" outdoors ( if possible have an a/b switch option so you can keep the outdoor speakers seperate from the ones inside.

I must have missed this yesterday! LMAOPIP

It's funny we do have a mix of music going on in the back yards... Our immediate neighbors listen to light music when the family is around... two doors the other way are heavy metal fans and BIG partiers.

So I think it will be a funny mix to her Black Sabath, Rent and Dion Warwick going at the same time. The neighbors directly behind us will go mad! Which is a good thing
