Boo Why Did I Just Buy This Stupid Domain?

    Greetings All:

Ok, I do some stupid things sometimes. Well, actually, I do a lot of stupid things a lot of the time. But this one takes the cake.

I'm in the habit of registering domain names. In fact, I'm pretty much a domain whore. Now, granted, I've picked up some really good ones in the past, both mainstream and adult, and have made my fair share reselling them.

This domain, isn't going to be one of those:

    posthumously.com

I saw it listed as a domain that had just expired, and in all my wisdom, registered it. WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?!?

How about we make this a "Help John Feel Better About Being Such A Dumbass" thread. What stupid domain names have you registered in the past?

Hahahaha its not that bad actually

    One word dictionary domain.

There are a few options, turn it into a blog dealing with awards posthumously, similar to the darwin awards.

Make it a blog concerning bereavement and poems/poetry, eulogies etc

    Good luck with it

Well it may not make you feel better but I can say there are times I've grabbed EXCELLENT domain names.

Just to be reminded later that I AM dislexic and misspelled the key word in the domain.

The moment Lee moved in we double checked spelling befre hitting PAY HERE!

    LOL

lmao! Thanks for the belly laugh ... glad I'm not the only one that gets tempted by such "prized domain names"!

So far my biggest give in to temptation was for AnotherFuckingPornSite.com - still not sure what I'll do with it, but couldn't resist it.

You could do a site - kinda retro style - on gay pornstars that have passed on maybe ... just a thot.

posthumously.com seems like it has a lot of potential if you have a little time to develop it...

    I like anotherfuckingpornsite.com

After Vegas I was discouraged by all the bullshit in this business that I registered wewontscrewyou.com as a potential resource site where noobs can go to learn. I haven't had time to do anything with it yet.

A couple of years ago, I registered naked-gay-men.com and it took me a whole year of not being able to get it into Google that it had probably been owned by someone who did some suspicious-type stuff that got them kicked out of Google. I dumped the domain after a year. So, it's always good to check potential domains with archive.org to see if they've been owned before.

Do you guys actually find it profitable to resell domains? Where would you sell them? Or do you wait till somebody contacts you? Just wondering.

One way to sell a domain is to advertize them here. I picked up a nice domain on another board and paid $300 for it. So, if it cost $6.95 to register, that's a tidy profit.
